This podcast episode delves into the recent developments surrounding Elon Musk's SpaceX, which has transitioned to a publicly traded entity, thereby enabling individuals to acquire shares in the company. I reflect on my experiences with various technological tools, particularly the innovative video creation software, Hey Jen, which has proven to be an intriguing asset in my creative endeavors. During our discourse, I also address my personal reflections on the sweltering climate and my intention to undertake travels that facilitate a respite from the heat. Furthermore, we discuss the potential implications of an impending agreement between the United States and Iran, which may herald a reduction in oil prices, thereby impacting the economic landscape. As we navigate these multifaceted topics, I invite listeners to engage with me and share their thoughts on the subjects explored in this episode. In the current episode, Grey Hair Dave provides an insightful examination of various themes, interweaving personal anecdotes with reflections on technology and current affairs. The discourse begins with Dave's experiences in video editing, particularly his foray into utilizing Final Cut Pro and an AI program named 'Hey Jen'. He shares his journey of learning and adapting to new technologies, emphasizing the importance of staying current in an age where digital tools can significantly enhance one's creative output. This exploration serves as a crucial reminder of the necessity for individuals to embrace technological advancements, as they can facilitate more profound storytelling and content creation. Transitioning from the technical realm, Dave offers listeners a glimpse into his personal life, discussing his plans to travel and visit family, as well as commenting on the current climatic conditions in his locale. This personal narrative adds a layer of relatability, allowing the audience to connect with the host on a more intimate level. Furthermore, the podcast touches on significant developments in the financial sector, particularly the recent IPO of SpaceX, elucidating its implications for investors and the market at large. This discussion not only informs listeners about the evolving landscape of investments but also encourages them to consider how such developments may affect their own financial decisions. The episode ultimately serves as a platform for community engagement, as Dave encourages listeners to reach out to him for assistance in starting their own podcasts. By fostering an environment of collaboration and shared knowledge, he invites the audience to participate actively in the podcasting community. Speaker A

Welcome to five Minutes with Grey Hair Dave.

Speaker A

He has grey hair and he has a grey beard and he also wears glasses like the guy in the artwork.

Speaker A

Oh, and the guy in the artwork is better looking.

Speaker A

Now, tariff free.

Speaker A

Here is Grey Hair Dave.

Speaker B

Well, well, well, folks.

Speaker B

That was elevenlabs IO spelled E L E V E N L A B S IO.

Speaker B

Yes, I am an affiliate there at 11 Labs IO.

Speaker B

So if you go there, use the product, pay for it, I get a commission off that.

Speaker B

That helps to phrase some of the costs here.

Speaker B

So just wanted you to know that.

Speaker B

How are you doing?

Speaker B

I'm doing great.

Speaker B

I hope you are too.

Speaker B

So hold on a second.

Speaker B

Drink time.

Speaker B

So we have been, and I say we, I mean me, I've been goofing around with some stuff this week online like with hey Jen which just created a cool video for me.

Speaker B

I've also been playing around with Final Cut Pro more, trying to get more, I don't want to say comfortable with it, but I'm learning some more tricks when it comes to that, that program.

Speaker B

Now you all know that I am an Apple person.

Speaker B

I love my Macs, I love my iPhone, my iPad, I love all that stuff.

Speaker B

And I don't want one ecosystem, so if I do something on one, it goes to the other, which is the way it's supposed to be.

Speaker B

One of the great advantages of, of doing that with, especially now that I'm doing video with every podcast.

Speaker B

And yes folks, I am recording video at the same time as I'm doing this right now.

Speaker B

You're looking.

Speaker B

If you're watching the video, go over to YouTube, go to gray Hair Dave, the Gray Hair day page and you'll see the video.

Speaker B

But this was taking, taken, I'm sorry, over in Treasure island in, let's see, the Gulf coast of Florida, really.

Speaker B

It's, it's St. Pete beach, but this is at a restaurant right by the bay and which goes out into the Gulf of Mexico and it's, there's a little bay in between which it's a really great place called John's Pass Roundabout.

Speaker B

Long winded way of getting there to Johns Pass.

Speaker B

And I think the place over there is fantastic.

Speaker B

I like it there a lot.

Speaker B

I'm due to go back soon just for medicinal purposes.

Speaker B

You know, go to the sea, smell some air, get, get, get away from everything here.

Speaker B

But you know, it's, it's a good time to go right now because spring breaks are over so it won't be quite as crowded.

Speaker B

Summer's begun here for, you know, for schools so there's no school right now, but that'll be all right too.

Speaker B

But I'm thinking about that.

Speaker B

But you know, I was talking to my brother there today.

Speaker B

I'm also thinking about making a trip back up to Michigan again, seeing some folks, spending some time with family.

Speaker B

But we'll see what happens there too.

Speaker B

But that's what's happening on the personal front, besides the fact I, I, I hate to tell you this, it's been hot here.

Speaker B

Not just warm, it's been hot at the average.

Speaker B

Feels like temperatures have been in the hundreds, low hundreds, but 100 is a hundred.

Speaker B

And when there's no breeze, man, I tell you, that makes, just makes it deadly almost up there.

Speaker B

And last week when I was working, I forgot to wear shorts because our costume has shorts, a short option option.

Speaker B

Right.

Speaker B

And I have been not afraid to show my legs, but you know, because of all the surgery and everything else my doctors had me in and compression socks when I work.

Speaker B

But with all this heat, it doesn't help when I, and I, you know, I'm not going to be one of them people who wears long socks, long black socks with my costume.

Speaker B

Would it look okay?

Speaker B

Probably.

Speaker B

But that's defeating the purpose of getting air in my legs and up, you know, and ventilation everywhere it needs to go.

Speaker B

It's so I'm going to go to a shorter sock and I still have to wear the brace.

Speaker B

And yeah, I may get a weird tan, but that's the way it works here in, in the land of the sun.

Speaker B

So today we're changing subjects.

Speaker B

Now today I was playing around with a program called hey Jen.

Speaker B

Hey Jen will make videos for you.

Speaker B

And all you have to do is basically give it some parameters, give it a, you know, a photo or a video option that it can look at of you and see what it put out it comes out with.

Speaker B

Now, I'm still on the free version because I use a free version of everything as long as I can.

Speaker B

And it, I told it that, told it who I am.

Speaker B

I also uploaded one of the images that Chat GPT had made of me.

Speaker B

Unfortunately, it's the one that has a Sea World logo on it.

Speaker B

But that's my issue.

Speaker B

I don't, I was just using that as the example.

Speaker B

I said, you know, my name is Gray Hair Dave.

Speaker B

I, I, I am a podcaster, a podcast editor, video editor, audio editor.

Speaker B

I own a company called Gray Hair Productions.

Speaker B

One of our divisions works on helping 55 plus communities get the word, you know, get their lives out in the public or recorded Also gives them the option for, you know, video or if they want to do a podcast, if they want to do a legacy video or audio, all those types of things, explainer videos, whatever.

Speaker B

They want to do that.

Speaker B

We do that.

Speaker B

And that's part of our product.

Speaker B

And then I hit enter.

Speaker B

Oh, yeah.

Speaker B

I also put the name of it in there, too.

Speaker B

And it took about, oh, I don't know, maybe four minutes to come up with this video Grant.

Speaker B

I think it's about 30 seconds long, but it's pretty cool.

Speaker B

If you're watching the video, I'm going to add it in at, at the end as a bonus if I can.

Speaker B

It's now to get everything out of there.

Speaker B

I need to, of course, sign up for monthly, a monthly or yearly subscription.

Speaker B

And if I'm not willing to, to subscribe to.

Speaker B

If I'm not willing to subscribe to Claude Cowork.

Speaker B

Why would I subscribe to this when it's not really something I'm going to use?

Speaker B

So we'll see what happens if I've got.

Speaker B

Because I do have the copy of the video.

Speaker B

So I'll put it out there just so you know.

Speaker B

But, you know, there's.

Speaker B

There's been a lot happening in the world this week that we need to talk about, too.

Speaker B

Elon Musk took SpaceX public this week, which means you can buy shares or stocks in that company, which includes everything from SpaceX to X, you know, Twitter.

Speaker B

I think it's all under one big group, and that includes Tesla.

Speaker B

I mean, I think it's all his companies in one or something.

Speaker B

I haven't paid a whole lot of attention.

Speaker B

All I know is that it started at the opening ipo, which is initial public offering.

Speaker B

I think that's what it's for.

Speaker B

It's.

Speaker B

It's is.

Speaker B

It started at $132 a share, which is a lot.

Speaker B

And now I, when I heard yesterday, it's up at $172 or $73 a share, and it has made him.

Speaker B

It is the first IPO to be.

Speaker B

To make him.

Speaker B

It made.

Speaker B

Let's put this way, it made Elon Musk a trillionaire overnight almost.

Speaker B

And he was already richer than all of us.

Speaker B

I mean, so, I mean, what the.

Speaker B

But that's in my mind.

Speaker B

I mean, a friend of mine, she went ahead and bought one stock or one share.

Speaker B

If I had $170 that I didn't have anything to do with right now, I'd probably buy a share, too.

Speaker B

But, you know, to do it properly, you Got to buy more than one share and I, I don't have the money for that right now.

Speaker B

And I don't, I don't, I don't gamble that way anymore.

Speaker B

I don't gamble anymore.

Speaker B

I mean, I used to go to Vegas once in a while and, and that kind of thing, but I don't even do that anymore.

Speaker B

Just don't.

Speaker B

No desire anymore.

Speaker B

It doesn't bother me that I don't.

Speaker B

I like to gamble for fun.

Speaker B

I go with a certain amount of money.

Speaker B

I was okay to lose and if I lost it, fine.

Speaker B

If I came back even I'm fine, I come back ahead.

Speaker B

Hey, you know, great day in the neighborhood.

Speaker B

But anyway, that's what's going on there.

Speaker B

Also.

Speaker B

There's a.

Speaker B

Supposedly a deal for the strait or with Iran and the US for something, for some kind of a ceasefire and a.

Speaker B

Whatever.

Speaker B

There's some kind of an agreement coming.

Speaker B

And so they are going to start opening up to straight to Hormuz, which means that we might start getting cheaper oil here and cheaper gas prices because our gas prices are.

Speaker B

They've been right around $4, sometimes a couple cents more, sometimes a little bit less, but hovering right around $4 a gallon.

Speaker B

I'm lucky.

Speaker B

I live close enough that I can go for three or four weeks without having to buy gas.

Speaker B

I got a small car.

Speaker B

It's not small small.

Speaker B

I mean, it's.

Speaker B

But it's great on gas mileage.

Speaker B

I'm getting 40 miles to the gallon when I go back and forth to work.

Speaker B

Holds 10 gallons.

Speaker B

So, you know, I was paying 40 bucks to fill up my, my tank and I like to not let it get below half when the prices are this high.

Speaker B

Yeah, I'm spending the same amount of money each time, but for the amount of miles I drive a week, which is, God, probably it's way, way under a hundred.

Speaker B

I don't drive 100 miles a week because I'm so close to work.

Speaker B

So there's that.

Speaker B

And that's what's going on this week.

Speaker B

I have decided I am going to go ahead and sign up for Claude code just to get going on that.

Speaker B

To help it with me, I've already made some, some templates for emails and I'm starting to make these videos, so I'm into those, but I'm not there yet.

Speaker B

I've got to edit them and get them on the website and then phone calls start and appointments start.

Speaker B

So wish me well.

Speaker B

Please wish me luck.

Speaker B

If you've got any comments or concerns about what I'm going to be doing.

Speaker B

Please feel free to go to five Minutes with Gray Haired Dave and leave me a message.

Speaker B

Go to the Contact Me page.

Speaker B

Leave me an email.

Speaker B

Go to the little microphone on the bottom right hand corner.

Speaker B

Click on it.

Speaker B

You have to leave me an email address either way and leave me your comments on what you think about this project I'm going to do.

Speaker B

Am I taking too long?

Speaker B

Yeah, I'm taking too long.

Speaker B

Okay, get off my back because no one's on my back harder than I am.

Speaker B

But, you know, let's.

Speaker B

I want your opinions on it.

Speaker B

If you think it's a good idea, let me know.

Speaker B

If you think it's a terrible idea, let me know.

Speaker B

Because I want to know.

Speaker B

I want opinions.

Speaker B

So please, please go to five Minutes with Gray Hair Dave.

Speaker B

Leave me a message.

Speaker B

What else?

Speaker B

Because I was going, I was going to talk about today.

Speaker B

Well, probably not much because we're already at about 13 minutes.

Speaker B

If you want to start a podcast or you know somebody who wants to start a podcast, do them a favor.

Speaker B

Do me a favor, go togray hair productions.com G R E Wet.

Speaker B

Okay, I do that every time.

Speaker B

It's G R E Y Hair Productions dot com.

Speaker B

Go to the Contact Me page, fill it out, send me an email.

Speaker B

Hey, I'm interested and I'll give you a hand.

Speaker B

I'm willing to help out for a certain amount of time for free.

Speaker B

And if you want to continue on with me, then there'll be a fee.

Speaker B

But the main thing I want to do is get people interested in starting a podcast because everybody out there has something they know that somebody else may not.

Speaker B

Or they, they, they love golf, they love boating, they, they love cooking.

Speaker B

They want to talk about it, they want to talk about their recipes.

Speaker B

We can do it on audio or audio video, whichever you want to do.

Speaker B

I can help you with all that.

Speaker B

Also, you know, it's a great way to get things out that you want to talk about.

Speaker B

I mean, look at me.

Speaker B

Five Minutes with Gray Hair Dave has no basic description except just Dave being Dave.

Speaker B

But yet it started out as reviewing music when I grew up to work, you know, the problems with my health, my foot.

Speaker B

To all these AI things that I'm into.

Speaker B

And yours can evolve whatever way you want it to.

Speaker B

Also, it doesn't have to be.

Speaker B

I have to follow this.

Speaker B

You know, it can be whatever you want it to be.

Speaker B

So if you're interested, get ahold of me at Gray Hair Productions dot com.

Speaker B

Also, folks, if.

Speaker B

If you know somebody who doesn't know what a podcast Is doesn't know where to find them, doesn't have a clue about what they are, what they do.

Speaker B

Show them for me.

Speaker B

Grab them, grab them by their, their hand and grab their phone and have them press on the podcast tab or download the podcast app if they are on an Android.

Speaker B

Because I don't know if Android phones come with a podcast app on them.

Speaker B

Might be something for me to look up, huh?

Speaker B

But if you're on the video I'm going to have, you'll see, it'll be on there.

Speaker B

About podcast apps, also, there will be.

Speaker B

I just lost it, folks.

Speaker B

I'm sorry.

Speaker B

The genres, the different kinds of genres.

Speaker B

See, you don't have to be perfect in these things.

Speaker B

And I'm not editing that last little bit out, but there's all kinds of different genres out there, everything from politics to country music.

Speaker B

There's a guy out there has a huge following and all they talk about is model trains.

Speaker B

He's got a huge following.

Speaker B

There's a guy out there who is, who talks about horses.

Speaker B

Huge following.

Speaker B

So you could do whatever you want to do, be whatever you want to be.

Speaker B

So, so do that for me.

Speaker B

So also, and, and I want you to know this because I mean this sincerely.

Speaker B

I look at my podcast numbers daily.

Speaker B

I probably shouldn't.

Speaker B

And sometimes they get either big download, sometimes they're not.

Speaker B

And word of mouth is a great way to get your word, you know, your podcast out there and know, because it's all been pretty organic for me.

Speaker B

They are the 200th one that was not.

Speaker B

But it's been pretty organic for me and I've done okay and I'm very happy with, with my downloads.

Speaker B

Don't get me wrong, but if you know somebody out there who's looking for a new podcast to try, please tell them about me.

Speaker B

Tell them about five minutes of gray hair.

Speaker B

Dave, the guide has all kinds of different things to talk about, but you might enjoy it and get some fun out of it.

Speaker B

And also the last thing I always say here, if you're out and about and you see somebody who may not be having a good day, looks like they're a little sad.

Speaker B

Smile, wave, say hi.

Speaker B

You're going to make their day a little bit easier, which will make your day a little bit easier.

Speaker B

So for me, smiling back at you, you all have a great week.

Speaker B

Enjoy your, your family, enjoy your work, enjoy what you do.

Speaker B

If you're not enjoying it, you're not doing it right.

Speaker B

Or if you're not enjoying it, it may be time to think about something.

Speaker B

Else, but also if you're not enjoying it.

Speaker B

But it's a means to an end, which means, like, it's a stepping stone.

Speaker B

Keep the faith, brothers and sisters.

Speaker B

Keep the faith.

Speaker B

So on behalf of me, Gray Hair Dave here in Gray Hair Central and Gray Hair Productions.

Speaker B

You'll have a great week.

Speaker B

Bye.

Speaker B

Bye.
