This episode underscores the significance of utilizing advanced AI tools, specifically Eleven Labs IO, to enhance creative endeavors such as podcasting. I delve into the functionalities of this platform, elucidating how it can be employed to personalize voice training and streamline content creation. Furthermore, I share insights from my recent experiences, including reflections on my health and the necessity of integrating AI-assisted technologies into my workflow. The discussion extends to the importance of maintaining the integrity of one’s work, emphasizing the need for thorough review and personalization of AI-generated content. Ultimately, I invite listeners to engage with these technologies while remaining vigilant about their potential pitfalls. In this enlightening episode, Gray Hair Dave embarks on a multifaceted exploration of podcasting, focusing on the integration of innovative technologies and the significance of personal narrative. Central to the discussion is the introduction of 11 Labs IO, a sophisticated platform that enables users to train their voices for enhanced audio production. Dave passionately articulates the myriad possibilities this technology affords podcasters, urging his audience to experiment with its capabilities to enrich their storytelling and elevate their content quality. The informative nature of this segment serves as both a tutorial and an endorsement, seamlessly blending educational content with a promotional undertone. The episode further delves into a reflective assessment of episode 200, wherein Dave candidly shares his thoughts on its execution and the insights gleaned from his experience. He engages listeners with the concept of 'Monday morning quarterbacking,' encouraging them to appreciate the dual nature of self-evaluation—both its constructive potential and its tendency to evoke self-doubt. This introspective commentary not only highlights Dave's commitment to growth but also resonates with listeners who may grapple with similar feelings concerning their creative outputs, fostering a sense of solidarity. Moreover, personal anecdotes punctuate the discourse, particularly concerning Dave's health journey. His candid revelations about seeking medical advice reveal the human side of podcasting, underscoring the importance of authenticity in connecting with an audience. This blend of personal narrative and professional insight exemplifies the dual role of a podcaster as both a creator and a storyteller, ultimately reinforcing the episode's central message: the power of voice—both in terms of technology and personal expression—in shaping the podcasting landscape.

Speaker A

Welcome to five minutes with Grey Hair Dave.

Speaker A

He has gray hair and he has a gray beard and he also wears glasses like the guy in the artwork.

Speaker A

Oh, and the guy in the artwork is better looking.

Speaker A

Now, tariff free.

Speaker A

Here is grey Hair Dave.

Speaker B

Yes, everybody.

Speaker B

Hello, hello, hello.

Speaker B

Welcome back to five minutes with gray Hair Dave.

Speaker B

Yes.

Speaker B

We are back and we are in action.

Speaker B

So what's new with you folks, huh?

Speaker B

I. I tell you before I forget, don't let me Forget, that was 11 Labs IO spelled E L e V e N L a b s.IO I'm also videotaping this at the same time, folks.

Speaker B

So here we go.

Speaker B

I just hit the record button on the video.

Speaker B

I'm going to edit the video.

Speaker B

I want to get better at that.

Speaker B

So with 11 Labs IO, there's a lot that you can really do with it.

Speaker B

Elevenlabs IO you can train it to use your voice, you can train it to do all kinds of things for you which are really, really cool.

Speaker B

Go and try it at elevenlabs IO, see what you think.

Speaker B

Use the affiliate link that I've put in the show notes so you can click on that.

Speaker B

If you like it and you subscribe or you buy whatever you buy, I get an affiliate payout, as it were.

Speaker B

Okay.

Speaker B

And I think that that would be cool, if you wouldn't mind.

Speaker B

What did you think of episode 200?

Speaker B

I thought it turned out okay.

Speaker B

I thought about it afterwards and of course there's always Monday morning quarterbacking.

Speaker B

And you know that's Monday morning quarterbacking can be good and bad, right?

Speaker B

You can.

Speaker B

It can be good and bad.

Speaker B

So I was happy with most of it.

Speaker B

I could have gone into more detail about some of the things that we are planning here.

Speaker B

And I say we.

Speaker B

When I say we, I always mean me because it's just me here right now.

Speaker B

Eventually, and I do have plans for eventually, I am going to get a.

Speaker B

An assistant.

Speaker B

Now that assistant to begin with is going to be AI But I'm also going to need somebody who speaks fluent Spanish and English to help me out eventually.

Speaker B

Not today, not tomorrow, not this month, but hopefully soon.

Speaker B

So that with the day, the gray hair day project, I can help everybody here in Florida.

Speaker B

The Spanish speaking, the.

Speaker B

The non Spanish speaking.

Speaker B

Okay.

Speaker B

I don't want to.

Speaker B

I don't want to limit it to any.

Speaker B

To anybody's language.

Speaker B

I want to be able to help everybody.

Speaker B

So that, that was one of my big intentions with episode 200, in a sense.

Speaker B

Also wanted to let you know what was going on and the things that I'D accomplished the things that were from the past, what was going on with me and AI.

Speaker B

I.

Speaker B

Let's.

Speaker B

Let's get into this a little bit more.

Speaker B

Let's get me out of the way.

Speaker B

See, I normally talk about me a little bit and what's going on.

Speaker B

I went to my doctor again today, my foot doctor, and told him what was going on because it's weird.

Speaker B

I work about at work.

Speaker B

I walk about two and a half miles a day and I'm standing all day long except for when I'm on break.

Speaker B

And at the end of the day, boy, I hurt.

Speaker B

And at the end of the day, on the second day, I hurt.

Speaker B

On the end of the day, at the third day, boy, it hurts.

Speaker B

And every day for about an hour and a half before I leave, it feels like my foot is just ballooning up inside my shoe.

Speaker B

It feels that way.

Speaker B

I don't take my shoe off to find out because I'm afraid I won't be able to get it back in.

Speaker B

So I don't do that.

Speaker B

But by the time I got home, every day I take my shoe off and it looked pretty good.

Speaker B

It looked normal.

Speaker B

Ish.

Speaker B

So I told him that and he said, well, let's get an MRI and see what happens, what's going on in there?

Speaker B

Because he says, your foot is strong.

Speaker B

I said, it feels strong, but I'm going to keep working.

Speaker B

But now he wants me to wear my brace, my foot bracelet all the time, you know, so that's going to be different because I normally don't wear it around house.

Speaker B

But I guess I'm gonna have to start and that's what's going on there.

Speaker B

I tried to book an MRI appointment and it's not till next month.

Speaker B

It's like five weeks from now.

Speaker B

That's what.

Speaker B

It's busy.

Speaker B

I mean, they're busy.

Speaker B

They got everything else going on, so there's that.

Speaker B

I also wanted to change subjects now and go back to the AI.

Speaker B

I was listening to a podcast last week with.

Speaker B

It was Ask the Podcast Coach and they had a guest host in for Jim, if you've ever listened to it.

Speaker B

Jim is the, the, the co host on Ask the Podcast Coach with Dave Jackson.

Speaker B

And I am.

Speaker B

Boy, his, his last name is just blowing me right, right over my head.

Speaker B

I can't remember what it is.

Speaker B

Anyway, they had a, you know, somebody sit in for him because he had to take the day off.

Speaker B

And he was talking about.

Speaker B

He and Dave were talking about their podcast artwork and how he gets it done.

Speaker B

He has made and he's gone into Chat GPT, put a picture in there of himself and a few other people that you know.

Speaker B

He'll put somebody new in every week and he will then add his transcript to that.

Speaker B

Ask Chat GPT to make a podcast artwork cover.

Speaker B

You know, and pod and apple specs got to be 3000 by 30001400 by 1400 pixels and all that fun stuff.

Speaker B

He puts all that in there and he tells Chat GPT to make cover art and he wants it to be, he puts it in there as makes it make it Pixar like so his characters come out really pretty good.

Speaker B

And then what he does for himself is he made himself a model sheet in Chat GPT.

Speaker B

Well, I've got a character caricature of me that I had one of the AI's make and unfortunately it had the SeaWorld logo on it.

Speaker B

I didn't care, I wanted to see what it would do.

Speaker B

So I said ask.

Speaker B

I said please make out of this photo or this, this photo right here make me a model sheet.

Speaker B

And that's what it's called, a model sheet.

Speaker B

And he did, I mean he, I say he.

Speaker B

It did.

Speaker B

So what it came back with is and I'm going to go over here and I want you to see what it looks like.

Speaker B

I had them, I just said this is the original model, not the original, the original had SeaWorld on it.

Speaker B

I asked it to change the logo to just say gray haired Dave because I was wearing a hoodie and a three quarter zip up hoodie.

Speaker B

And it did, it made, it made this, this really, really cool looking page where it's got me standing up four different views.

Speaker B

It's got a picture, you know, of my eyes with my glasses on.

Speaker B

A color of the glasses, it's got color of the hair and they made it really wavy and thick, which was cool.

Speaker B

It's got, it's got all my other equipment in there, you know, my coffee cup, which I don't drink coffee but I don't care.

Speaker B

The whole thing just looks really cool.

Speaker B

And then what you do with that once you're done is you then go back and ask it to use out of that.

Speaker B

You ask it to now it'll take that and use that model sheet to formulate what it comes up with with the transcript.

Speaker B

How cool is that?

Speaker B

I mean really.

Speaker B

And it's really cool.

Speaker B

If you have guests, they'll put different guests in there.

Speaker B

They'll put different things.

Speaker B

Let's just say you're, you're talking about cars today.

Speaker B

It'll put you standing there with a car.

Speaker B

You know, folks, Excuse me, lawnmowers.

Speaker B

It's going to be right back.

Speaker B

Sorry for the delay.

Speaker B

Now we're going to challenge my editing skills on both audio and video.

Speaker B

But it, it's really, really cool.

Speaker B

And this is all done through chat.

Speaker B

It's, I'm going to try it also with one of the other AIs.

Speaker B

Not, that's not sonary.

Speaker B

There's a bunch of new ones that have come out lately.

Speaker B

But it's, it's hey Gen, I want to try this thing with hey Gen because it'll make supposedly videos out of this stuff or use those that model sheet to make a video out of what I'm doing here.

Speaker B

Maybe like for shorts or something on YouTube.

Speaker B

So that's what's going on with me and AI.

Speaker B

I am excited about this one.

Speaker B

Now I do want to tell you if you and I know that this, this recording is a little longer than we might want to go normally, but I want you to think about what you're doing with your AI.

Speaker B

And remember, if you're making, oh, let's just say you're making a book and you're having AI do it for you, because it will, it'll write a book for you, tell it what you want to know what you want to talk about, tell you the basic topics and it'll write it for you and you can get it printed.

Speaker B

Please don't do that.

Speaker B

Go through it.

Speaker B

Make it your own.

Speaker B

Use it as, and we've talked about this, it needs to be AI Assisted intelligence.

Speaker B

It's there like a virtual assistant for you with many, many, many more benefits.

Speaker B

Just all I'm saying, but be careful with AI out there that you don't get in trouble and do something that you can't take back.

Speaker B

Okay?

Speaker B

So always, always, always check over whatever material you're using, you're putting out there.

Speaker B

If you're putting it out into the world on YouTube, Reddit, Substack, LinkedIn, your website, read it two or three times.

Speaker B

First of all, to make sure the spelling's right.

Speaker B

Remember, nobody delves into anything anymore.

Speaker B

And if, except maybe lawyers, take the delves out, take the, you know, dye the deep dive stuff out, put your words in there, make it yours.

Speaker B

Use that as a, the template to go through and, and make it yours.

Speaker B

So I've told you before, with AI, I use AI in captivate to do the show notes.

Speaker B

It will create five or six possible names for me to look at.

Speaker B

It'll create show transcript.

Speaker B

It'll do show descriptions.

Speaker B

It'll do chapters if I want.

Speaker B

It will do.

Speaker B

It will insert dynamically inserted ads like the ones for my, my merchandise, things like that.

Speaker B

But I go in there every time because first of all, and it's finally learned how I spell gray.

Speaker B

Most people spell gray.

Speaker B

G, R, A, Y.

Speaker B

Well, I'm a completely different kind of a person, so I spell gray.

Speaker B

G, R, E, Y.

Speaker B

Gray.

Speaker B

Because it's still correct.

Speaker B

It is.

Speaker B

It's still correct.

Speaker B

So check it over, make sure you're doing it right.

Speaker B

Go through it once or twice before you do it.

Speaker B

Then.

Speaker B

Then try this.

Speaker B

If you're a podcaster, send it over to Chat GPT.

Speaker B

Tell them, you know, show them a picture of what you, who you are tell.

Speaker B

Here's the transcript.

Speaker B

Come up with artwork for this, for this particular episode or for this particular chapter.

Speaker B

Because you can do chapter artwork on just about all the podcast those.

Speaker B

So anyways, I know I'm talking long here.

Speaker B

We're already too long talking about podcasting, though.

Speaker B

Do you want to be a podcaster?

Speaker B

Have you thought about podcasting?

Speaker B

Thinking, wow, I could do that.

Speaker B

Gray Hair Dave can do that.

Speaker B

I can do that.

Speaker B

You can contact me either at five minutes with gray hair dave.com that's the number.

Speaker B

Five minutes with gray hairdave.com or, you know, and then if you go to the contact me page, or there's a little microphone down there in the bottom that'll send me a voicemail.

Speaker B

You can go Togray hair productions.com Also, if you're interested.

Speaker B

Glad to help you.

Speaker B

We could guide you if you'd like.

Speaker B

My book.

Speaker B

It's only one or two more weeks left before I'm going to put a lid on it and start selling because I've already got the book PDF ready for making it sellable.

Speaker B

Also, folks, if you're out and about today or you're talking to somebody who doesn't know what a podcast is, do me a favor.

Speaker B

Do all the podcasters a favor.

Speaker B

Will you show them how to find it on their phone.

Speaker B

You know, you show them how to find it.

Speaker B

You show them what genres there are.

Speaker B

And then use 5 minutes of gray Hair Dave as the example here.

Speaker B

Use this, use this.

Speaker B

And then you put it in there and show them how to follow and subscribe whichever version it gives them.

Speaker B

And then you can make all of us happy and make them happy, because I have something else to do.

Speaker B

Also, folks, if you're out and about today and you run into somebody may not be having a bad day, maybe has a frown on their face, smile at them, say hi, hope you're having a great day.

Speaker B

You're going to make their day, which will in turn make yours.

Speaker B

Hey, folks, Future Dave here.

Speaker B

I did want to tell you that, and I do apologize for this.

Speaker B

I as I'm editing this, I am seeing why you only want to do one thing at a time.

Speaker B

Do the podcast or do a video, one or the other.

Speaker B

Because all this jumbling up and back and forth doesn't sound good.

Speaker B

So I apologize for the edits that had to be made because I was trying to do two things at one time.

Speaker B

This will show you it don't work very well, especially when you're recording a video and an audio.

Speaker B

So sorry, this one's a little jumbled up, but you're getting the picture here, because next week, this whole thing is going to be done on ECAMM Live.

Speaker B

Now, ECAMM Live is the.

Speaker B

Is the program I'm using to record this, but you can do a lot of things with ECAMM Live.

Speaker B

But I'm also recording the audio and the video.

Speaker B

I'll be able to show you the video going on in the background or the audio.

Speaker B

I mean, the daw that I'm using.

Speaker B

All that stuff's next week.

Speaker B

So until then, you have a great week.

Speaker B

Have a great weekend, and I will talk to you next week.

Speaker B

Bye.

Speaker B

Bye.
