The primary focus of this episode is the impending milestone of our 200th episode, which serves as a moment of reflection on the journey of the podcast thus far. I express my gratitude to the listeners for their unwavering support, which has significantly contributed to the growth of our audience. Throughout this discussion, I delve into the evolution of the podcast's content, highlighting the transition from a focus on personal anecdotes and historical reflections to a broader array of topics that resonate with our ever-changing world. Additionally, I share insights regarding my recent return to a regular job, detailing the challenges and adjustments I face in this new phase. The episode concludes with a call for listener engagement, inviting feedback and personal stories, thus fostering a sense of community among our audience. The discourse presented within this segment of the podcast delves into the evolution of the host's journey through nearly two hundred episodes. As we traverse the annals of time, from the inception of the podcast to its current iteration, I reflect upon the thematic metamorphosis that has transpired. Initially, the focus was predominantly on personal anecdotes and the broad tapestry of cultural phenomena that shaped my formative years. However, as the episodes progressed, a discernible shift occurred, steering the narrative towards a more introspective examination of contemporary issues and personal growth. This transition not only mirrors my own maturation but has also resonated with the audience, as indicated by the positive feedback and increasing engagement metrics. It is imperative to acknowledge the audience's pivotal role in this journey; their steadfast support has been a driving force behind the podcast's evolution. I express my sincere gratitude for their continued patronage and engagement, which has enabled this platform to flourish. Moreover, the podcast addresses the significance of local politics and its direct impact on daily life, contrasting with the often tumultuous global political landscape. I emphasize my belief that while global events are undeniably pertinent, the nuances of local governance and community welfare hold paramount importance. The dialogue reflects a nuanced understanding of the socio-political climate and its ramifications on the lives of individuals, particularly those navigating the complexities of everyday existence. In sharing my observations regarding the current socio-political climate, I aim to foster a sense of community and connection with my listeners, encouraging them to engage in meaningful discourse regarding local issues that affect their lives directly. In conclusion, this episode serves as both a reflective milestone and a clarion call for continued dialogue and engagement in community matters. I invite my listeners to participate actively, share their experiences, and contribute to the ongoing conversation. Together, we can cultivate a more informed and engaged community, one that is aware of the intricate interconnections between local and global events, and one that is committed to fostering positive change at all levels.

Speaker A

Welcome to Five Minutes with Grey Hair Dave.

Speaker A

He has grey hair and he has a grey beard and he also wears glasses like the guy in the artwork.

Speaker A

Oh, and the guy in the artwork is better looking now, tariff free.

Speaker A

Here is Grey Hair Dave.

Speaker B

Yes, folks, welcome back.

Speaker B

Another episode of five Minutes with Gray Hair Dave.

Speaker B

That, as usual, was the intro by 11Labs IO.

11 Labs IO has really, really, really up their game lately and they are really knocking it out of the park with the new things already.

Speaker B

Please go over there, look at it and see what you think and if you like it, sign up using my affiliate link.

Speaker B

Okay, that's enough of the advertising for now.

Speaker B

So I hope you're doing well.

Speaker B

I wanted to let you know a couple of things.

Speaker B

First of all, this is episode 199.

Speaker B

Next week makes 200.

Speaker B

You believe that?

Speaker B

Thank you for being with me for all 200 of these.

Speaker B

199.

Speaker B

Actually, I have enjoyed my time with you.

Speaker B

I have gone back lately and not, not recently recently, but I have gone back a little while ago and I look to see or listen to see actually what I was talking about in the beginning as compared to what I'm talking about now.

Speaker B

I know the theme of this is just Dave being Dave, but it's really changed.

Speaker B

I started out talking about what was happening in, in the world as I was growing up and what was happening happening in music and my life as I was growing up as a child.

Speaker B

And slowly but surely I weaned away from that because in the very, very beginning I was doing one a day, five days a week.

Speaker B

And I think I did that for the first.

Speaker B

Oh geez, 50, I, I want to say at least 50 of them.

Speaker B

I could check on that number, but I'm not going to because you could figure that out yourself.

Speaker B

But I, I, I was making that work.

Speaker B

I really was.

Speaker B

But then I was running out of material.

Speaker B

The songs didn't change.

Speaker B

What was number one didn't change.

Speaker B

What had happened yesterday was the same as today, whether it was a different year or not.

Speaker B

Because I tried to change years as I, as I went along too.

Speaker B

And I'm hoping you like what I'm doing now better.

Speaker B

I have noticed my numbers have improved as I've gone on through this, which I'm happy as can be over that, folks.

Speaker B

And that's all because of you.

Speaker B

You keep listening and downloading and that's what matters to Me.

Speaker B

So I hope you're enjoying the show.

Speaker B

Now the next thing I wanted to talk about was I went back to my regular job this last week and you know, I had to go through three days of training, which I did and I, and the guy.

Speaker B

Actually there were two guys training me, me and this other girl and we had a lot of fun.

Speaker B

We, we learned the job and I go back tomorrow and I get checked off on a job to make sure that I can handle it.

Speaker B

And then we will see how the foot holds up because as of right now, the foot's been holding up pretty good.

Speaker B

Yes, there's been pain at the end every day.

Speaker B

Yes, I'm walking just in the eight and a half hours I'm there.

Speaker B

I'm averaging a mile and a half every day.

Speaker B

So you know, it's not something I'm used to.

Speaker B

I'm going to take that into account.

Speaker B

But I do go to the doctor next week and he's going to ask me the all important question is how does it feel right now?

Speaker B

Feels pretty good, but that's today and I haven't used it much in the past three days.

Speaker B

So you know, I get that first week.

Speaker B

I get it.

Speaker B

It's going to be a little tough but you know, we're going to find out.

Speaker B

We're going to try real hard to make this work.

Speaker B

So that's, that's where I am at work.

Speaker B

Let's move on to something else.

Speaker B

And it's going on in the world and it's, it's gotten quite crazy overseas and I, and for those of you who are over in the Middle east area, I feel for you, I really, really do.

Speaker B

I. I hope you stay well.

Speaker B

I hope you stay safe.

Speaker B

I'm a firm believer that politics for me is local.

Speaker B

I understand you have to be worried about the, the world stage when it comes to politics but you know, more importantly is, is it going to affect or the people I know and love?

Speaker B

Yeah, I'm paying more for gas, you know, just them pay more for gas.

Speaker B

Everybody over in the United States is.

Speaker B

It's come down a bit but you know, that's, that's about the only inconvenience I've had to deal with when it comes to that.

Speaker B

Locally I'm pretty lucky where I live it's.

Speaker B

People are pretty, pretty normal.

Speaker B

I don't mean that in a bad way.

Speaker B

Our government is more on the, let's take care of the people, let's not worry about the junk.

Speaker B

You know what I mean?

Speaker B

Let's, it's not fight.

Speaker B

Let's not do all this stuff.

Speaker B

Let's make sure people have what they need and the services they need and let's go on.

Speaker B

I do live in Florida, so some people don't like the fact that Florida laws are the way they are.

Speaker B

But it's fine with me.

Speaker B

I'm not complaining about it and I'm really not.

Speaker B

I don't really have a lot of complaints.

Speaker B

You know, I could complain today that it's really hot because right now it's 92 outside and if I look outside, yeah, it's hardly a breeze out there.

Speaker B

But, you know, we're also getting into the rainy afternoon season, so we'll see what happens.

Speaker B

Right.

Speaker B

I do remember that I told you I was going to investigate Claude Cowork last week.

Speaker B

Well, I did.

Speaker B

And right now I'm paying for so many things.

Speaker B

Paying for.

Speaker B

I'm paying for Perplexity.

Speaker B

I'm paying for Chat and all the other subscriptions that I have.

Speaker B

And I just couldn't see trying Claude Code and going and paying for it monthly, which is, granted, it's not much, it's only $20.

Speaker B

But if I'm going to do that, I'm going to want to get rid of one of the other ones that I'm paying for because I have to be financially responsible to myself too.

Speaker B

So I did not try.

Speaker B

Folks, I apologize.

Speaker B

But it's not that I don't have the $20.

Speaker B

That's not it.

Speaker B

I don't want to overload myself on these things and then forget that.

Speaker B

I don't either.

Speaker B

A, don't like it.

Speaker B

B, if I don't like it, I forget to get rid of the subscription or C, find out that I love it and I want to buy more, which is going to cost more.

Speaker B

One of their plans is like a hundred dollars a month and that's just for co work.

Speaker B

That's not for Claude Code.

Speaker B

Will I do it?

Speaker B

Yeah, but I'm going to wait a couple weeks because Perplexity and Chat GPT just came out.

Speaker B

So I'm going to use the heck out of them for the rest of the month and then I'm going to get at it.

Speaker B

So update, Come on.

Speaker B

That I haven't really been, you know, because of that, I really haven't been playing too much with Chat GPT or clot.

Speaker B

I am going to go in because I'm on the free version.

Speaker B

I am going to go in today.

Speaker B

I want to see how it does.

Speaker B

I'm going to go through the same thing on Perplexity in chat.

Speaker B

I mean in open, open AI chat, GPT.

Speaker B

I'm going to use the same exact phrase.

Speaker B

So I want to see what it'll do to make me a brochure, a trifold brochure with information on both sides to see what it comes up with.

Speaker B

Now I found one from a person that I work with who has on their side gig, as it were.

Speaker B

They had a nice brochure and it was jam packed full of pictures and information.

Speaker B

I don't need that much for what I'm going to be doing with the Gray Hair Dave project.

Speaker B

But I do, I really do want to try and get one so that I can leave brochures at these, these communities I go to to say, hey, this is what, what's available for you besides just leaving a business card?

Speaker B

You know, a business card is nice, but it doesn't tell what we're going to do for you.

Speaker B

We're a brochure.

Speaker B

Or if I can leave them, a flash drive with my commercial on it, which I haven't made yet.

Speaker B

Just to say, well here, this is me, this is what we're doing and if you, if you're interested in it, please get a hold of either your community or get a hold of me personally.

Speaker B

So that's, that's the plan for this week and I'm also going to use Canva.

Speaker B

I played with the book some more on Canva and I wasn't happy with it at all with the way I did it.

Speaker B

So I'm going to try again.

Speaker B

It the book is, the book is there, it's already written.

Speaker B

I just didn't like the layout that I used.

Speaker B

And as far as I'm concerned, if I'm just sending out a PDF, doesn't really matter what it looks like as long as it's a good looking PDF and it does look good, I think.

Speaker B

Does it have all the fancy stuff, all the, the pictures and all that other fancy stuff on it?

Speaker B

No, not right now.

Speaker B

And I'm thinking to myself right as we're talking, do I need it?

Speaker B

I don't know, maybe I don't.

Speaker B

So there's that.

Speaker B

So that's what's going on this week folks.

Speaker B

What's going on in your life?

Speaker B

Do me a favor, go to 5min with greyhair dave.com.

Speaker B

Either go to the contact me page or use the little microphone in the bottom right hand corner.

Speaker B

Leave me a message, let me know what's going on in your life.

Speaker B

I'm interested, I honestly am.

Speaker B

Let me know what you think of the last couple of podcasts and what your opinion is on what I'm trying to do.

Speaker B

Do you think it's viable?

Speaker B

Do you think it's a good idea?

Speaker B

I'd like some feedback.

Speaker B

I really would, folks.

Speaker B

So please, five minutes with gray hairedave.com and that's the number.

Speaker B

Five minutes with gray hairdave.com and just leave me a message.

Speaker B

Go to the contact me page.

Speaker B

That'll send me an email.

Speaker B

Leave me a voicemail.

Speaker B

You got to put in your email address.

Speaker B

I'm sorry, but that's the way it works now.

Speaker B

Am I going to sell your email address?

Speaker B

No, never would.

Speaker B

Never ever would.

Speaker B

I'm selfish.

Speaker B

I want it for myself.

Speaker B

I'm going to advertise something.

Speaker B

I want to advertise it to somebody who knows me, who knows that, oh, this is coming from Great Hair Dave.

Speaker B

Okay, I'll open it up.

Speaker B

It won't automatically go into the spam folder.

Speaker B

You know what I mean?

Speaker B

Yeah.

Speaker B

Serious about that.

Speaker B

I just.

Speaker B

You have to put your email address in for everything nowadays, and it gets sold.

Speaker B

I just want you to know I'm not going to do that.

Speaker B

The next thing is, are you interested in becoming a podcaster?

Speaker B

Do you know somebody who's interested in becoming a podcaster?

Speaker B

Do you have a hobby?

Speaker B

Is there something you're interested in?

Speaker B

Something you're passionate about?

Speaker B

A legacy maybe you want to leave for your family, friends?

Speaker B

Contact me at.

Speaker B

Contact me @gray hair productions.com and leave me a message.

Speaker B

Because I'll tell you what, I'm losing my brain here.

Speaker B

I really, really.

Speaker B

It's okay.

Speaker B

I'll be fine.

Speaker B

You know, so there's that.

Speaker B

Okay, so I'll.

Speaker B

Yeah, I've completely lost track of where I'm going now.

Speaker B

Next, folks, is I want you to.

Speaker B

To think about, is there somebody you know, somebody you know who doesn't know what a podcast is, doesn't know where to find one, don't know what genres are out there or.

Speaker B

I'm sorry, genres.

Speaker B

Do me a favor.

Speaker B

Show them how.

Speaker B

Take their phone, show them the podcast apps, and use me as the example.

Speaker B

Five minutes of Gray Hair Day.

Speaker B

Show them the example and say, here's how you find it.

Speaker B

Show them how to subscribe or follow.

Speaker B

You know, you're going to.

Speaker B

You're going to help a lot of podcasters out and you're going to help me also, folks, while you're out and about today or this week, please receive somebody who may not be, who maybe is not having the best day of their life.

Speaker B

Smile, wave, say Hi.

Speaker B

It might just cheer him up.

Speaker B

So on behalf of Gray Hair, Dave here and Gray Hair Productions, which today is my bedroom.

Speaker B

You all have a great weekend.

Speaker B

I'll talk to you next week.
