Welcome to five Minutes with Grey Hair Dave.
Speaker AHe has grey hair.
Speaker AHe has a grey beard and he wears glasses like the guy in the artwork.
Speaker AOh, and the guy in the artwork is better looking.
Speaker ANow here is gray hair day.
Speaker BSo how are you folks?
Speaker BYes, again, it is gray hair.
Speaker BJust as the wonderful people from ElevenLabs IO, the artificial intelligence website where you type in what you want to and it gives you different choices for, for voices, voice styles, all kinds of fun things.
Speaker BBut I hope you enjoyed that, that intro.
Speaker BAnd, and just so you know, I don't want this to get, get anything crazy or anything, but I am not sponsored by eleven Labs.
Speaker BI just use their product and I know that there are people out there who, who listen to me who may want to podcast or, or already are podcasting and are looking for new things to help them with their podcast.
Speaker BI've talked about this before on my other podcast called Boomer Podcasting, which you can find@boomer podcasting.com.
Speaker Bthere's only six or seven of those out.
Speaker BAnd I, I got to a point where I was thinking, God, I've got to go to video on that.
Speaker BBut anyways, hold on a second here, folks.
Speaker BHey, welcome.
Speaker BI hope you're doing good today.
Speaker BThanks.
Speaker BThank you so much for being here today.
Speaker BAnd now back to my little conversation.
Speaker BOh, where was I?
Speaker BYou know how it is, you get a little bit older in age, you forget where you were so quickly.
Speaker BBut no, I mean, I, I, I thought that I was going to have to go to video because I was going in, in sequence of what you do to start a podcast.
Speaker BAnd I've got a camera, you know, my phone.
Speaker BAnd let's be honest, that camera on your phone, I don't know what kind of phone you got.
Speaker BDoesn't really matter, you know, unless you're using an eight or nine year old flip phone.
Speaker BThe phone on your, on your camera is really pretty good.
Speaker BIt really is, you know, and so I'm going to use that.
Speaker BI've also got a new webcam.
Speaker BWell, I can't say it's new.
Speaker BI've had it for about a year that I've considered using.
Speaker BI also have a, you know, a digital video recorder which I've considered using and it's supposed to be 4k but I just don't think it gives me the quality or the depth of the, the iPhone 15.
Speaker BAnd I'm working on a 15, folks.
Speaker BI'm not working on an iPhone 16, I'm working on an iPhone 15.
Speaker BI'm not a person who Upgrades every time something new.
Speaker BDog started barking for a second so I had to pause.
Speaker BBut where I was at is I'm not the type of person who changes every time something new comes out.
Speaker BNow I like to be as up to date as I can, but Apple comes out with a brand new phone every year.
Speaker BAnd my gosh, folks, I use a, an iPhone.
Speaker BMine is a 15 Pro Max and it's the large one.
Speaker BSo it's a thousand dollar phone.
Speaker BI'm not going to go out and buy a new thousand dollar phone every time a new one comes out.
Speaker BSo, you know, if you're listening to me in the future and you don't know what year this is, this is, this is 2025 and that's the year they'll probably come out with a 17.
Speaker BAnd if they put a, I swear, if they put a, a silicone chip in this one instead of intel or whatever they're using for their chips, oh my God, it'll be an absolute game changer.
Speaker BGame changer.
Speaker BI swear it will be.
Speaker BAnd I'll get one, but not yet.
Speaker BI just got a brand new iPad M4 Pro Max and it's doing all kinds of things for me.
Speaker BIt's helping me run the business.
Speaker BOkay, I don't want to get bogged down in that, but hopefully it's exactly what I need to get this business up and running, right?
Speaker BThis Gray Hair Productions.
Speaker BI have been goofing around with it for way too long, folks.
Speaker BAnd I'm having to say this on here purposely because I need a push.
Speaker BAnd just having it out there in the universe sometimes talking to people that are, are listening to me is enough of a push for me to get my, my hiney in gear.
Speaker BOkay?
Speaker BAnd that's what's going to happen this year.
Speaker BAll I gotta do is have two or three customers and I can, I can call it quits in my job right now and it'll make recovery so much easier on my foot.
Speaker BSo that's, that's the plan for me.
Speaker BThat's, that's the hope and the wish.
Speaker BNow will that come true?
Speaker BYes, because now I say it's going to come true and I'm not one to lie.
Speaker BI'm going to make this work.
Speaker BSo there's that.
Speaker BOkay, so I won't need a new one till 18 probably, but I'll get a 17 when it comes to the iPhone, so I probably will.
Speaker BAnd I'm also looking at upgrading my computer soon.
Speaker BDo I need to?
Speaker BNo.
Speaker BBut if I start that video editing more, I'M really going to want to get a little bit more memory in the RAM section, you know, portion of the computer.
Speaker BNow I'm working off of a, a MacBook Air with an M1 and it's, well, it's five years old but it runs, Gosh, it runs just like a champ.
Speaker BAnd I'm trying to decide over here, do I stick with the laptop or do I go keep this laptop and go out and buy a Mac mini?
Speaker BAnd I know I'm talking about technology here today folks, but that's what I want to talk about today.
Speaker BI like the computer.
Speaker BI like the keyboard on this.
Speaker BOops.
Speaker BI like the keyboard on my Mac.
Speaker BAnd I would go out and get the MacBook or not the Mac but the, the Apple keypad because I like their, I mean I like their keyboards.
Speaker BPlus I'd have to go out and get a trackpad.
Speaker BI use a mouse all the time.
Speaker BBut I've really, really learned to enjoy the trackpad on my Dell or any other laptop that I've had.
Speaker BI've had quite a few over the years, really have had a couple of Dells, Lenovo's.
Speaker BOh man, I had a Sony once that was fantastic.
Speaker BBut I never really found their track pads to be as useful as the Apple trackpad just isn't.
Speaker BSo I would have to have one of those.
Speaker BAnd I can't be mobile with a Mac Mini where I can be with a MacBook or a, an Apple MacBook Pro with an M4 chip in it.
Speaker BNow I do most.
Speaker BI could do all my business on my iPad if I was, was out and about.
Speaker BI can do some editing on there too.
Speaker BIt's powerful enough to do it.
Speaker BIt's powerful enough right now that it can run a couple of Pro big programs.
Speaker BI could run GarageBand in there or I'm sorry, Logic Pro or Hindenburg and put the monitor on there, my 34 inch monitor on there and they would have no problem.
Speaker BIt just offer goes and, and they call it rendering when you, when you get ready to get ready to, to export your video and they call it bouncing when it comes to audio.
Speaker BAnd Hindenburg is really, really fast because there's not a lot that I've done to it.
Speaker BIn Hamburg, Hindenburg is my backup recorder.
Speaker BI've had to use it a couple times because sometimes I make drastic mistakes and I can't get it back.
Speaker BSo I go to the Hindenburg, I download it into Logic Pro and off I go.
Speaker BI've started all over again.
Speaker BBut you know, that's how I do things.
Speaker BSo whatever I get, it's got to be able to do all that.
Speaker BWell, the Mac Mini can do that, and I can get it for a whole lot cheaper than I can get a, a MacBook Pro.
Speaker BNow, most all the new Mac Minis are coming with 16 gigabytes of RAM.
Speaker BAnd I would of course have to have 512 gigabytes of hard storage, hard drive storage.
Speaker BIt's all in one chip.
Speaker BWith Apple, it's all the silicon chip.
Speaker BSo anyways, that's what I wanted to talk to you about.
Speaker BJust want to get it off my chest and let you know where I'm at real quick on politics.
Speaker BYesterday or the day before was the current President, United States, 100th day in office.
Speaker BAnd they say that the very first 100 days are where you can get the most done in politics.
Speaker BThe first hundred days of a president's term are the most important to get things done.
Speaker BAnd he's gotten a lot done.
Speaker BHe was interviewed last night by a gentleman, I want to use a nice phrase here to cover this, a gentleman who I've never heard of before from ABC who kept trying to trap him.
Speaker BIt was fun to watch.
Speaker BI did watch him, and he about ended it a couple of times with this guy, but he didn't, you know, he just didn't.
Speaker BAnd he's gotten a lot done.
Speaker BThere's a lot of controversy going on and some things may have to come back that he did.
Speaker BYou know, he's human.
Speaker BYou can't, you can't do anything about that.
Speaker BHe's a human being.
Speaker BHe makes mistakes.
Speaker BSo anyways, that's all I've got to say about politics this week.
Speaker BHere's something, though, that I found funny.
Speaker BI watched a little bit of the Pope's funeral on Saturday morning.
Speaker BIf I found it interesting that everybody, every male I could see, you know, that that was not a, a bishop, a cardinal or anything like that.
Speaker BThey were all wearing black suits.
Speaker BThere's the President of the United States sitting there in his, his usual blue suit with a white shirt and a red tie sticking out like a, like a sore thumb.
Speaker BBut he's not there to make a fashion statement, folks.
Speaker BHe not there to blend in.
Speaker BThat's not what this president does.
Speaker BSo like me or not, like my politics or not, that's as far as I'm going with politics today.
Speaker BSo anyway, I'm going to end it there.
Speaker BI'm just going to say this.
Speaker BIf you got a, got a concern, a question or a comment, go to my website.
Speaker B5 minutes with gray HairDave.com that's the number 5 minutes with gray hair.

Speaker BAll right, it's go to the contact me page.
Speaker BLet me help you with this, and I will promise you good service and I'll promise you a good product when we're done.
Speaker BNow, past the advertising, if you know somebody who doesn't know what a podcast is, doesn't know where to find one, what genre they can listen to, how to follow, subscribe, all that fun stuff that has to go with podcasting and tell them about mine.
Speaker BTalk about this goofy guy who doesn't talk about the same thing twice and have him listen.
Speaker BDo that for me if you would.
Speaker BShow them how to do it.
Speaker BAlso, folks, please smile at somebody you don't know today, whether it's that person behind the counter.
Speaker BYou're buying something from your waitress, your bartender, or just your boss, smile, let them know you care, and they're going to turn right back around, smile at you, and that's going to make their day, going to make your day.
Speaker BSo on behalf of Dave here at Gray Hair Productions, you all have a wonderful day, and I will talk to you again soon.
Speaker BBye.
