Furthermore, I express my ongoing considerations regarding an upgrade to my computing devices, particularly in light of Apple’s latest offerings. While navigating these technological discussions, I also reflect on global events, urging listeners to prioritize their safety amidst tumultuous circumstances. As we conclude, I extend an invitation for engagement, encouraging individuals interested in podcasting to reach out for assistance and resources. The episode offers a profound exploration of the intersection between artificial intelligence and daily productivity, as articulated by the speaker. He shares his recent experiences with various CRM platforms, initially experimenting with Perplexity before transitioning to Odoo, a tool he admires for its extensive features but finds cumbersome due to the need for extensive customization. Ultimately, he expresses a preference for ClickUp, which he finds to be more straightforward and user-friendly. This discussion not only illuminates the intricacies of selecting the right technological tools but also underscores the broader theme of adaptability in an ever-evolving digital landscape. Welcome to five Minutes with Gray Hair Dave.
Speaker AHe has gray hair and he has a gray beard and he also wears glasses like the guy in the artwork.
Speaker AOh, and the guy in the artwork is better looking now, tariff free.
Speaker AHere is Gray Hair Dave.
Speaker BWell, well, well.
Speaker BYes, indeed.
Speaker BWelcome back.
Speaker BWelcome back to Five Minutes with Gray Hair Dave.
Speaker BThat was Eleven Labs.
Speaker BRemember, they're the ones that do my intro.

Speaker BSo I hope and pray that all of you are doing well today.
Speaker BThere's a lot going on in the world.
Speaker BWe'll talk about that in a bit.
Speaker BBut we have been talking about artificial intelligence, or as I like to call it, assistive intelligence.
Speaker BAnd I remember I told you last week that I had Perplexity build me a CRM Customer Relationship Management Program.
Speaker BWell, it was okay, it did exactly what I asked it to do.
Speaker BBut there are others out there like Airtable and Click up and Odoo, which I already have Odoo, but Odoo has a lot of AI involved in it too.
Speaker BAnd I wanted to talk about.
Speaker BI don't hate Odoo, don't get me wrong, it has a lot of great features.
Speaker BUnfortunately, you have to build most of them as you go along and I don't have the time or the patience for that right now.
Speaker BWhere ClickUp already has it built, you just start adding names.
Speaker BEven a new CRM I built or had built, just add the names and it's got all the fields already involved because I asked it put specific fields in.
Speaker BI could have spent the time in Odo and done that, but I, I didn't and I was a little frustrated with it and.
Speaker BAnd again, it has all kinds of great options.
Speaker BI'm not putting this out there as a negative review.
Speaker BThe negativeness is on me because I didn't take the time when I purchased it to really get involved and see what it could do and build it and have it help me do what I needed it to do.
Speaker BBut I think I'm going to go with something simple and easy and free like ClickUp.
Speaker BI mean, I don't need a whole lot with ClickUp to start until I start making some money with the Gray Hair Dave project.
Speaker BSo.
Speaker BAnd it has a lot of AI in it also.
Speaker BAnd the one cool thing is, is it browser based?
Speaker BAnd I can pull it up on my phone, my iPad, or my laptop or my desktop, whichever one I want to use or wherever I'm at doing whatever I'm doing that day.
Speaker BAnd because I am completely involved in the Apple ecosystem, I can, you know, I can do all that and not lose anything.
Speaker BSpeaking of Apple, changing the subject just a little bit, Apple has announced that the new M5 Pro and the M5 Mac or Max, I'm sorry, M5 Max are now coming out on the MacBook Pros.
Speaker BAnd I've been looking at, at maybe upgrading my laptop.
Speaker BNow I have a AM4 Mac mini and I love it.
Speaker BThe M4 does very, very well either on audio or Edio audio or audio.
Speaker BHonest folks, I haven't had a drink.
Speaker BIt's just, I get excited about what I'm talking about, but it's very good at audio and video editing.
Speaker BIt, there's very little lag time, very, very rare that I have to wait for it to catch up with me.
Speaker BNow it depends on the size of the render for the video, but it's, it's rare, so I don't worry too much about it.
Speaker BBut I'm considering the Upgrade on my M1 MacBook Air, my laptop for when I go mobile on this new business.
Speaker BAnd I might need a little more computing power.
Speaker BThis, my M1 has 8 gigabytes of RAM where I would probably want to get at least 16 for what I'm doing and at least Upgrade to the M4, if not the M5.
Speaker BWe'll see how that goes here in the future.
Speaker BOkay, sorry for that interruption, folks.
Speaker BMy brother called me back.
Speaker BToday is my brother's birthday and of course you always want to talk to your brother on his birthday.
Speaker BLove talking to my brother.
Speaker BHe's a great man.
Speaker BAnd anyway, we were talking about CRMs and things such as that, but I think I've made my decision on that.
Speaker BI'm going to probably stick with ClickUp one guy that has a YouTube channel that I'm very interested in following.
Speaker BI have been following him for a while.
Speaker BHe does think media.
Speaker BHe's got like 1.8 million subscribers to his YouTube channel.
Speaker BThat's what he uses, helps him plan and everything else.
Speaker BSo let's change the subject here, move on to what's happening in the world.
Speaker BI'm not here to make a political statement, folks.
Speaker BIf you know me, you know that that's not what I do.
Speaker BI will say if you are in any country around there, for gosh sakes, please stay safe.
Speaker BI, I have fans and people who do watch me or listen to me in Malaysia and ask God want.
Speaker BI have two.
Speaker BRight now, I have two downloads from the uae, United Arab Emirates, from Finland, from Germany, France, Spain, Italy, I've got folks.
Speaker BPlease, please, please stay safe.
Speaker BAnd even the Philippines, I. I'm praying for you and for everything that's going on in the world that it gets a little better.
Speaker BAgain, I'm not here to say one way or the other.
Speaker BWow.
Speaker BMy feelings on this are just to say that I hope you're safe and that you can find a place to be safe, and if you have family or know someone over there, that they're safe.
Speaker BSo with that, that's all we're going to say about that.
Speaker BNow, I don't know about you, but if you ever started a project or started working on something and you're just about there, I don't know how else to put it.
Speaker BYou're so close and you go, man.
Speaker BAll of a sudden you want to take a breath and step back for a day or two.
Speaker BWell, I step back for four days and now I'm catching back up, and that's not what I should be doing.
Speaker BEvery once in a while, I need a kick in the behind to get motivated again.
Speaker BAnd you, you're the one doing it for me because I thought about doing this yesterday, recording yesterday for my.
Speaker BFor this podcast, and I. I decided to wait till today because I wanted to see what else was going to happen with everything going on in the world.
Speaker BBut, you know, I've kicked myself in the rear and gotten myself motivated, and things are working again.
Speaker BI want you to know that it's.
Speaker BIt's a project that I think lots of people are going to enjoy, and I hope that they do.
Speaker BAnd you'll hear more about it as I.
Speaker BAs I kick it off.
Speaker BIt was supposed to start on the first, which was Sunday, and in reality, I looked at a couple of things I was almost ready to start.
Speaker BAnd, yes, you can't have everything ready when you get ready to start something brand new, but you could be a little closer than I am.
Speaker BI want to feel more comfortable in my pitch to the people that I'm going to be pitching to, as well as making sure my documents are all in the proper place.
Speaker BI do also still need to talk to a lawyer about this.
Speaker BI want to make sure that I am protecting not only myself, but possible clients.
Speaker BSo there is that.
Speaker BI just don't want to take any chances.
Speaker BI don't want to hurt anybody in this project or want anybody to feel hurt.
Speaker BSo there's that.
Speaker BAnd I know this podcast has been a little all over the place and I apologize for that.
Speaker BAgain, I got that return call from my brother so I could wish him a happy birthday in the middle and hopefully we, we didn't bore you.
Speaker BBut you know, he's been on one of my podcasts a couple of times, actually, the one my other brother and I had where we were, we did 100 of them.
Speaker BNow I'm at 188 with this one today.
Speaker BAnd I want to thank you and everybody out there in the world who is listening to me.
Speaker BAnd next week will be a little bit better.
Speaker BI'll be a little bit more on track.
Speaker BI didn't make notes for this one, which I normally do, but I wanted to get it out and I wanted to do it at a time where it was convenient for me and for you.
Speaker BSo do you know somebody who wants to start a podcast?
Speaker BDo you want to start a podcast?
Speaker BYou know, I do that.
Speaker BI help people start podcasts.
Speaker BI help you.
Speaker BI'll help you get it ready, I hope.
Speaker BI've got a book that I wrote that I writ.
Speaker BI've got a book that I wrote as about 15, 20 pages on how to start a podcast.
Speaker BIf that's something you're interested in.
Speaker BGo to Five Minutes with Gray Hair Dave.
Speaker BThat's the number.
Speaker BFive Minutes with Gray Haired Dave dot com.
Speaker BGo to the Contact Me page.
Speaker BLeave me a message.
Speaker BOr if you want, go over to Gray Hair Productions.
Speaker BGray Hair Productions is my business page.
Speaker BYou can leave me a message there through the Contact Me page too.
Speaker BIf you do that, I will send you a copy of the PDF.
Speaker BNow, the PDF that I would send you will be free.
Speaker BIf you're going to buy the book, you're going to have to buy the book.
Speaker BAnd I haven't decided how I'm going to sell it yet.
Speaker BAnd it may go through Amazon, it may not.
Speaker BI don't know.
Speaker BI'm finalizing that too.
Speaker BOn which way to go with that and which way is.
Speaker BIs the most economical for both myself and for you.
Speaker BSo there's that.
Speaker BSo yeah, if something you're interested in doing, please contact me, let me know and I'll send you a PDF.
Speaker BI'd be happy to.
Speaker BAnd then I'd love to hear your comments on.
Speaker BOn the book or on the PDF.
Speaker BAlso, folks, if you know somebody who doesn't know what a podcast is, doesn't know where to find one, doesn't know what genres are out there, once you do Tell them about it.
Speaker BDo me a favor, show them for me.
Speaker BTake them by the hand, take them by, grab their phone, open up a podcast app, whether that's the Apple Podcast or Google Play.
Speaker BThrough Google Play.
Speaker BI use Fountain a lot, Fountain FM, to listen to my podcasts because I earn SATs, which are basically tiny little bits of bitcoin, to listen to podcasts, so that if I wanted to, say, send SATs to somebody else because I enjoy their work, it's called paying for what you're getting.
Speaker BBasically, you know, it's sending them something for either a teaching me something, entertaining me, or making me laugh.
Speaker BYou know, it's just repaying.
Speaker BIt's paying it forward.
Speaker BBut that's just the one that I use.
Speaker BI'm not promoting Fountain fm, Fountain fm, but I enjoy listening on it also, folks, if you're out and about the rest of the week, especially now when tensions are high all over the world, you see somebody that looks a little down or looks a little unhappy, smile, wave, say hi.
Speaker BYou might brighten their day, which will in turn brighten yours.
Speaker BSo on behalf of Gray Hair Dave here in Grey Hair Productions, may God keep you safe in the world, and you stay safe in the world.
Speaker BAnd I will talk to you again next week.
Speaker BBye.
Speaker BBye.
