This podcast episode delves into the intricate subject of artificial intelligence, specifically its applications in customer relationship management (CRM) systems. I discuss my recent experiences with various platforms, particularly highlighting my preference for ClickUp over Odoo due to its user-friendly interface and pre-built functionalities. Furthermore, I express my ongoing considerations regarding an upgrade to my computing devices, particularly in light of Apple’s latest offerings. While navigating these technological discussions, I also reflect on global events, urging listeners to prioritize their safety amidst tumultuous circumstances. As we conclude, I extend an invitation for engagement, encouraging individuals interested in podcasting to reach out for assistance and resources. The episode offers a profound exploration of the intersection between artificial intelligence and daily productivity, as articulated by the speaker. He shares his recent experiences with various CRM platforms, initially experimenting with Perplexity before transitioning to Odoo, a tool he admires for its extensive features but finds cumbersome due to the need for extensive customization. Ultimately, he expresses a preference for ClickUp, which he finds to be more straightforward and user-friendly. This discussion not only illuminates the intricacies of selecting the right technological tools but also underscores the broader theme of adaptability in an ever-evolving digital landscape. In addition to the discourse on artificial intelligence, the speaker transitions to a personal narrative regarding technological upgrades, specifically contemplating the new M5 MacBook Pro. His reflections highlight the significance of having robust computing power for creative endeavors, particularly in audio and video editing, which are central to his projects. The speaker’s insights serve as a reminder of the necessity for individuals to remain abreast of technological advancements that can enhance their professional capabilities and output. Moreover, the episode takes a reflective turn as the speaker addresses the listeners with heartfelt concern regarding the global socio-political climate. His empathetic remarks emphasize the importance of human connection and community support, particularly during turbulent times. By encouraging listeners to reach out and offer kindness to those in need, the speaker reinforces a vital message of solidarity and compassion. Speaker A

Welcome to five Minutes with Gray Hair Dave.

Speaker A

He has gray hair and he has a gray beard and he also wears glasses like the guy in the artwork.

Speaker A

Oh, and the guy in the artwork is better looking now, tariff free.

Speaker A

Here is Gray Hair Dave.

Speaker B

Well, well, well.

Speaker B

Yes, indeed.

Speaker B

Welcome back.

Speaker B

Welcome back to Five Minutes with Gray Hair Dave.

Speaker B

That was Eleven Labs.

Speaker B

Remember, they're the ones that do my intro.

Speaker B

Eleven Labs IO.

Speaker B

If you're up to it, go check them out at 11 Labs IO.

Speaker B

You can follow the link in the show notes.

Speaker B

And if you do sign up, then I get paid through an affiliate program which will help defer the cost of this show.

Speaker B

So I hope and pray that all of you are doing well today.

Speaker B

There's a lot going on in the world.

Speaker B

We'll talk about that in a bit.

Speaker B

But we have been talking about artificial intelligence, or as I like to call it, assistive intelligence.

Speaker B

And I remember I told you last week that I had Perplexity build me a CRM Customer Relationship Management Program.

Speaker B

Well, it was okay, it did exactly what I asked it to do.

Speaker B

But there are others out there like Airtable and Click up and Odoo, which I already have Odoo, but Odoo has a lot of AI involved in it too.

Speaker B

And I wanted to talk about.

Speaker B

I don't hate Odoo, don't get me wrong, it has a lot of great features.

Speaker B

Unfortunately, you have to build most of them as you go along and I don't have the time or the patience for that right now.

Speaker B

Where ClickUp already has it built, you just start adding names.

Speaker B

Even a new CRM I built or had built, just add the names and it's got all the fields already involved because I asked it put specific fields in.

Speaker B

I could have spent the time in Odo and done that, but I, I didn't and I was a little frustrated with it and.

Speaker B

And again, it has all kinds of great options.

Speaker B

I'm not putting this out there as a negative review.

Speaker B

The negativeness is on me because I didn't take the time when I purchased it to really get involved and see what it could do and build it and have it help me do what I needed it to do.

Speaker B

But I think I'm going to go with something simple and easy and free like ClickUp.

Speaker B

I mean, I don't need a whole lot with ClickUp to start until I start making some money with the Gray Hair Dave project.

Speaker B

So.

Speaker B

And it has a lot of AI in it also.

Speaker B

And the one cool thing is, is it browser based?

Speaker B

And I can pull it up on my phone, my iPad, or my laptop or my desktop, whichever one I want to use or wherever I'm at doing whatever I'm doing that day.

Speaker B

And because I am completely involved in the Apple ecosystem, I can, you know, I can do all that and not lose anything.

Speaker B

Speaking of Apple, changing the subject just a little bit, Apple has announced that the new M5 Pro and the M5 Mac or Max, I'm sorry, M5 Max are now coming out on the MacBook Pros.

Speaker B

And I've been looking at, at maybe upgrading my laptop.

Speaker B

Now I have a AM4 Mac mini and I love it.

Speaker B

The M4 does very, very well either on audio or Edio audio or audio.

Speaker B

Honest folks, I haven't had a drink.

Speaker B

It's just, I get excited about what I'm talking about, but it's very good at audio and video editing.

Speaker B

It, there's very little lag time, very, very rare that I have to wait for it to catch up with me.

Speaker B

Now it depends on the size of the render for the video, but it's, it's rare, so I don't worry too much about it.

Speaker B

But I'm considering the Upgrade on my M1 MacBook Air, my laptop for when I go mobile on this new business.

Speaker B

And I might need a little more computing power.

Speaker B

This, my M1 has 8 gigabytes of RAM where I would probably want to get at least 16 for what I'm doing and at least Upgrade to the M4, if not the M5.

Speaker B

We'll see how that goes here in the future.

Speaker B

Okay, sorry for that interruption, folks.

Speaker B

My brother called me back.

Speaker B

Today is my brother's birthday and of course you always want to talk to your brother on his birthday.

Speaker B

Love talking to my brother.

Speaker B

He's a great man.

Speaker B

And anyway, we were talking about CRMs and things such as that, but I think I've made my decision on that.

Speaker B

I'm going to probably stick with ClickUp one guy that has a YouTube channel that I'm very interested in following.

Speaker B

I have been following him for a while.

Speaker B

He does think media.

Speaker B

He's got like 1.8 million subscribers to his YouTube channel.

Speaker B

That's what he uses, helps him plan and everything else.

Speaker B

So let's change the subject here, move on to what's happening in the world.

Speaker B

I'm not here to make a political statement, folks.

Speaker B

If you know me, you know that that's not what I do.

Speaker B

I will say if you are in any country around there, for gosh sakes, please stay safe.

Speaker B

I, I have fans and people who do watch me or listen to me in Malaysia and ask God want.

Speaker B

I have two.

Speaker B

Right now, I have two downloads from the uae, United Arab Emirates, from Finland, from Germany, France, Spain, Italy, I've got folks.

Speaker B

Please, please, please stay safe.

Speaker B

And even the Philippines, I. I'm praying for you and for everything that's going on in the world that it gets a little better.

Speaker B

Again, I'm not here to say one way or the other.

Speaker B

Wow.

Speaker B

My feelings on this are just to say that I hope you're safe and that you can find a place to be safe, and if you have family or know someone over there, that they're safe.

Speaker B

So with that, that's all we're going to say about that.

Speaker B

Now, I don't know about you, but if you ever started a project or started working on something and you're just about there, I don't know how else to put it.

Speaker B

You're so close and you go, man.

Speaker B

All of a sudden you want to take a breath and step back for a day or two.

Speaker B

Well, I step back for four days and now I'm catching back up, and that's not what I should be doing.

Speaker B

Every once in a while, I need a kick in the behind to get motivated again.

Speaker B

And you, you're the one doing it for me because I thought about doing this yesterday, recording yesterday for my.

Speaker B

For this podcast, and I. I decided to wait till today because I wanted to see what else was going to happen with everything going on in the world.

Speaker B

But, you know, I've kicked myself in the rear and gotten myself motivated, and things are working again.

Speaker B

I want you to know that it's.

Speaker B

It's a project that I think lots of people are going to enjoy, and I hope that they do.

Speaker B

And you'll hear more about it as I.

Speaker B

As I kick it off.

Speaker B

It was supposed to start on the first, which was Sunday, and in reality, I looked at a couple of things I was almost ready to start.

Speaker B

And, yes, you can't have everything ready when you get ready to start something brand new, but you could be a little closer than I am.

Speaker B

I want to feel more comfortable in my pitch to the people that I'm going to be pitching to, as well as making sure my documents are all in the proper place.

Speaker B

I do also still need to talk to a lawyer about this.

Speaker B

I want to make sure that I am protecting not only myself, but possible clients.

Speaker B

So there is that.

Speaker B

I just don't want to take any chances.

Speaker B

I don't want to hurt anybody in this project or want anybody to feel hurt.

Speaker B

So there's that.

Speaker B

And I know this podcast has been a little all over the place and I apologize for that.

Speaker B

Again, I got that return call from my brother so I could wish him a happy birthday in the middle and hopefully we, we didn't bore you.

Speaker B

But you know, he's been on one of my podcasts a couple of times, actually, the one my other brother and I had where we were, we did 100 of them.

Speaker B

Now I'm at 188 with this one today.

Speaker B

And I want to thank you and everybody out there in the world who is listening to me.

Speaker B

And next week will be a little bit better.

Speaker B

I'll be a little bit more on track.

Speaker B

I didn't make notes for this one, which I normally do, but I wanted to get it out and I wanted to do it at a time where it was convenient for me and for you.

Speaker B

So do you know somebody who wants to start a podcast?

Speaker B

Do you want to start a podcast?

Speaker B

You know, I do that.

Speaker B

I help people start podcasts.

Speaker B

I help you.

Speaker B

I'll help you get it ready, I hope.

Speaker B

I've got a book that I wrote that I writ.

Speaker B

I've got a book that I wrote as about 15, 20 pages on how to start a podcast.

Speaker B

If that's something you're interested in.

Speaker B

Go to Five Minutes with Gray Hair Dave.

Speaker B

That's the number.

Speaker B

Five Minutes with Gray Haired Dave dot com.

Speaker B

Go to the Contact Me page.

Speaker B

Leave me a message.

Speaker B

Or if you want, go over to Gray Hair Productions.

Speaker B

Gray Hair Productions is my business page.

Speaker B

You can leave me a message there through the Contact Me page too.

Speaker B

If you do that, I will send you a copy of the PDF.

Speaker B

Now, the PDF that I would send you will be free.

Speaker B

If you're going to buy the book, you're going to have to buy the book.

Speaker B

And I haven't decided how I'm going to sell it yet.

Speaker B

And it may go through Amazon, it may not.

Speaker B

I don't know.

Speaker B

I'm finalizing that too.

Speaker B

On which way to go with that and which way is.

Speaker B

Is the most economical for both myself and for you.

Speaker B

So there's that.

Speaker B

So yeah, if something you're interested in doing, please contact me, let me know and I'll send you a PDF.

Speaker B

I'd be happy to.

Speaker B

And then I'd love to hear your comments on.

Speaker B

On the book or on the PDF.

Speaker B

Also, folks, if you know somebody who doesn't know what a podcast is, doesn't know where to find one, doesn't know what genres are out there, once you do Tell them about it.

Speaker B

Do me a favor, show them for me.

Speaker B

Take them by the hand, take them by, grab their phone, open up a podcast app, whether that's the Apple Podcast or Google Play.

Speaker B

Through Google Play.

Speaker B

I use Fountain a lot, Fountain FM, to listen to my podcasts because I earn SATs, which are basically tiny little bits of bitcoin, to listen to podcasts, so that if I wanted to, say, send SATs to somebody else because I enjoy their work, it's called paying for what you're getting.

Speaker B

Basically, you know, it's sending them something for either a teaching me something, entertaining me, or making me laugh.

Speaker B

You know, it's just repaying.

Speaker B

It's paying it forward.

Speaker B

But that's just the one that I use.

Speaker B

I'm not promoting Fountain fm, Fountain fm, but I enjoy listening on it also, folks, if you're out and about the rest of the week, especially now when tensions are high all over the world, you see somebody that looks a little down or looks a little unhappy, smile, wave, say hi.

Speaker B

You might brighten their day, which will in turn brighten yours.

Speaker B

So on behalf of Gray Hair Dave here in Grey Hair Productions, may God keep you safe in the world, and you stay safe in the world.

Speaker B

And I will talk to you again next week.

Speaker B

Bye.

Speaker B

Bye.
