Speaker BSo how have we been?
Speaker BWell, I don't know about you, but I've been pretty good.
Speaker BI just been sitting around and I've been working.
Speaker BI've been learning new things.
Speaker BI believe that learning new things is very, very important.
Speaker BI really, really do.
Speaker BI.
Speaker BIf it means to me that I'm keeping my brain active and my brain is moving around and.
Speaker BAnd it's not as, oh, I don't know, sedimentary.
Speaker BSedimentary.
Speaker BNot in.
Speaker BSitting in one position all the time.
Speaker BHow about that?
Speaker BSedimentary.
Speaker BThat's the word I think I'm looking for.
Speaker BAnyways, sorry about that.
Speaker BI just, I'm.
Speaker BSome days I.
Speaker BSome days the words are there and they just don't come out.
Speaker BNow, is that preset adventure Alzheimer's?
Speaker BI don't know.
Speaker BAll I know is I'm having a good day.
Speaker BGod.
Speaker BI was doing something yesterday, folks, and this is.
Speaker BThis is.
Speaker BAnd I'm not going to get real religious on you here, but I'm going to say this.
Speaker BThe power of prayer.
Speaker BI did my normal prayers with God in the morning and had my chat with him and I was doing something yesterday afternoon and I hadn't even turned on.
Speaker BI already wasn't even watching the Football games.
Speaker BAnd all of a sudden, this big, huge smile came on my face.
Speaker BI don't know why.
Speaker BMaybe somebody was thinking about me.
Speaker BI don't know what was going on, but I had to smile.
Speaker BAnd I looked outside and I just thanked the Lord for, For giving me that smile.
Speaker BI thought that that was.
Speaker BThat was something that you might want to hear about, something uplifting.
Speaker BNow, if you don't mind, I'd like to change the subject.
Speaker BAnd we're going to get on to what's happening quickly with me, and then we're going to move on.
Speaker BSo on the total weight loss, we're at about 20 pounds, almost 25.
Speaker BI gained a pound back.
Speaker BI know why.
Speaker BI know exactly why.
Speaker BBecause I forgot to walk yesterday and the day before.
Speaker BNot gonna do that today.
Speaker BI'm gonna get it in there.
Speaker BGot to get my exercise in.
Speaker BI gotta stick with a plan.
Speaker BI've been eating better.
Speaker BI have.
Speaker BI've been eating better, folks.
Speaker BSo I hope you're.
Speaker BYou're okay with that.
Speaker BNow the next thing I wanted to talk to you about was just the desire to get out and move.
Speaker BNow, that doesn't.
Speaker BThat is not something that just comes naturally to me.
Speaker BIt doesn't.
Speaker BIt just.
Speaker BIt used to years ago, when I was a young kid, I remember getting my bike and riding and riding and riding for hours and hours and had a great time with it.
Speaker BBut I got away from that, you know, when I started driving.
Speaker BBut I. I really missed it.
Speaker BI used to play tennis all the time.
Speaker BI really miss it.
Speaker BAnd now with my knees or my foot or whatever, I don't think I'm ever going back to tennis.
Speaker BJust saying, I'm not going back to tennis.
Speaker BBut, you know, that's what goes on.
Speaker BSo I got to start motivating myself.
Speaker BSo self motivation is not always easy.
Speaker BAnd I know that you know that as well as I do.
Speaker BIt's not always easy to kick yourself in the rear and say, get out.
Speaker BGo do something.
Speaker BGet up, go do that.
Speaker BGet up, go do this.
Speaker BYou know, there's too many easy distractions nowadays.
Speaker BTelevision, music, friends, you know, social media.
Speaker BThis thing, this thing right here, this iPad, iPhone is the problem.
Speaker BSome days can't get away from it.
Speaker BKids are on social media, parents are on social media.
Speaker BThey're checking their emails all the time.
Speaker BThey're checking their, their everything.
Speaker BWhat's going, you know, checking their accounts, their banks account, bank accounts.
Speaker BAll these things are in their day now.
Speaker BAnd it's all because of, of the Internet now.
Speaker BI grew up without The Internet.
Speaker BAnd I'm not trying to sell you on the fact that life was simpler then, though.
Speaker BIt was okay.
Speaker BI'm not telling you that.
Speaker BAnd this I'm sure all my friends of that age will agree with me on.
Speaker BTime went slower.
Speaker BNow, I realize when you age, time goes faster.
Speaker BIt just seems to move by quicker and quicker and quicker.
Speaker BThat little clock on your.
Speaker BIt just keeps going round, round, round, faster and faster.
Speaker BAnd I don't know why, but it is part of life.
Speaker BAnd maybe because you weren't stuck in, well, between this half hour and this half hour to watch tv, Right.
Speaker BWell, that half hour goes by really fast that you're just sitting there watching tv.
Speaker BBut if you're out doing something, you're down, out and about, you know, downstairs with your friends or you're out talking or you're in a neighborhood, you're.
Speaker BYou're going for walks saying hi to your neighbors, or you're, you know, you're working in the yard, that time doesn't go by quite as fast now does it?
Speaker BSo how are you going to slow things down for me?
Speaker BI'm going to take a cue from my older brother.
Speaker BThey're busy all the time.
Speaker BAnd yeah, he has a wife to help motivate him.
Speaker BAnd she's a.
Speaker BIs a highly motivated person, don't get me wrong.
Speaker BShe likes to go, go, go, go, go.
Speaker BAnd that's what keeps her young and that's what helps keep my brother young.
Speaker BAnd I'm happy about that.
Speaker BHe's talked to him a couple.
Speaker BCouple well early last week and doing great.
Speaker BYou know, knee problems are getting better.
Speaker BWell, good for him.
Speaker BHe's moving around better.
Speaker BIt's.
Speaker BLife is easier.
Speaker BBut that motivation that when you're alone to go do something is hard.
Speaker BI'm not positive what I need to do and I'm not going to sit around and read a book about it.
Speaker BI'll listen to a podcast about it.
Speaker BI'll do something like that.
Speaker BBut I'll learn, but I need to learn how to get myself motivated.
Speaker BNow, I have read in the past books by famous motivational people like Zig Ziglar and oh, goodness, there's, there's a bunch of them out there.
Speaker BAnd yeah, they're great.
Speaker BAnd do they, they work in today's time?
Speaker BIf you learn how to turn off the noise.
Speaker BSo anyways, finding that motivational way to get things done and get motivated and moving, I'm struggling with.
Speaker BIf you've got any ideas, leave me a message at five minutes with gray hair dave.com.

Speaker BYou know, somebody kicked my.
Speaker BMy behind out the door.
Speaker BSo what else is going on now?
Speaker BAs you've noticed folks, I'm sitting here in my bedroom right now.
Speaker BI've got an office in my bedroom.
Speaker BIt's easier that way now.
Speaker BAnd it wasn't a big deal until I started doing video.
Speaker BNow I do have a green screen and I want to change the cameras around and it's a really nice green screen.
Speaker BIt's one of those elgato ones and it's a really great one.
Speaker BBut I gotta play with it and get it right.
Speaker BAnd I haven't, I haven't done that.
Speaker BSo you get to see my bedroom, but at least my bed is made.
