Welcome to Five Minutes with Gray Hair Dave.
Speaker AHe has gray hair.
Speaker AHe has a gray beard.
Speaker AHe wears glasses like the guy in the artwork.
Speaker AOh, and the guy in the artwork is better looking.
Speaker ANow here is Gray Hair Dave.
Speaker BHow are you, Gray Hair Dave.
Speaker BHere we're recording live.
Speaker BLive and in color today.
Speaker BToday I am recording five minutes of Gray Hair Dave with video.
Speaker BNow this video is going to be better.
Speaker BSorry about last week.
Speaker BI really, really am.
Speaker BI. I goofed up.
Speaker BI left it the background as Logic Pro, my daw, my digital audio workstation.
Speaker BAnd how exciting is that?
Speaker BI mean, not at all.
Speaker BWatching these waveforms go up and down, up and down as I talk.
Speaker BYou don't care about that, do you?
Speaker BI don't think you do.
Speaker BAnd I looked at that and went, well, that's no fun.
Speaker BSo here I am.
Speaker BIt's a day late, but I had things I had to get done yesterday and I'm sorry.
Speaker BThese, you know, life happens and you got to do things right.
Speaker BSo I hope you're doing well.
Speaker BI really do.
Speaker BHope you're enjoying yourself.
Speaker BHope you had a great weekend.
Speaker BI had a nice weekend.
Speaker BI. I did a lot of things.
Speaker BI talked to one of my brothers yesterday and got to hear all the stories about back up north, which was fun.
Speaker BI'll probably give my other brother a call today.
Speaker BIt's nice to talk to your brothers or your.
Speaker BI'm sure if I had sisters, I'd talk to them, but it's.
Speaker BIt's nice because you get to catch up on what's going on and in the world.
Speaker BIt makes you look to see what's going on in yours.
Speaker BExcuse me for playing with the goatee, but.
Speaker BOr the mustard.
Speaker BNot to goatee with the beer, but it's habit anymore.
Speaker BSo, anyways, I wanted to give you a quick update on what's happening with the when I die file.
Speaker BIt's closer.
Speaker BI had with my one chat last night with my brother.
Speaker BHe brought up a couple of things that I hadn't thought about, which were estate planning.
Speaker BSo if you're someone who has something to leave for people, you need to be doing some estate planning.
Speaker BI don't really think I need to, but I might.
Speaker BI don't know.
Speaker BI need to really look into that and see what it's.
Speaker BSee what I need to be doing, which gives me a reason to tell you all this.
Speaker BI got a.
Speaker BThis is funny.
Speaker BI talked about the when I die file a couple of weeks ago.
Speaker BAll of a sudden.
Speaker BI get an email the other day from a gentleman who is representing a lawyer.
Speaker BAnd first thing I think of when I get a letter from somebody representing a lawyer is like, what did I do now?
Speaker BWell, that wasn't it.
Speaker BIt was, you know, they were wanting to know if I was.
Speaker BWould be interested in having their client on our show.
Speaker BFive minutes with Gray here, Dave.
Speaker BAnd until this minute now, I didn't think so, but it might not be a terrible idea.
Speaker BAnd, and I, I would really, really, really appreciate your comments on this.
Speaker BNow, you can only talk to and.
Speaker BOr about what's going on in America, I'm sure, but this guy is.
Speaker BI looked him up.
Speaker BHe's.
Speaker BHe's pretty credible.
Speaker BI watched a couple of his YouTube videos with other podcast hosts, and the information seemed to be very, very good.
Speaker BNow, let's be honest.
Speaker BHe's like everybody else.
Speaker BHe's going to be out there wanting to promote his stuff.
Speaker BAnd, you know, that's fine if that's what you, you know, you're okay with, and I hope that it is.
Speaker BBut if it's not something you're okay with, I understand that, too.
Speaker BSo, you know, I don't want to take.
Speaker BAnd I don't want to abuse your time by doing this, but I also think it might be something of interest.
Speaker BNow, I know that this has gone to a.
Speaker BWhich is really weird from podcasting and talking about everything to all of a sudden now I'm talking about just death stuff.
Speaker BAnd I don't want to be that guy.
Speaker BI really, really don't want to be that guy.
Speaker BSo I'm not going to be that guy.
Speaker BAnd, and, and we're going to change subjects here in just a second or.
Speaker BI wanted to see what your thoughts were.
Speaker BAnd this is very, very important to me.
Speaker BIf you guys don't want to hear from him, I'll tell him.
Speaker BNo, I'll tell his, his bookie or his agent or whatever this guy is.
Speaker BI think it's his agent.
Speaker BThank you, but no thank you.
Speaker BKind of like I did with the last gentleman who wanted to be on my show.
Speaker BAnd here's the thing, folks, and I'm going to say this as succinctly as I can, don't ever approach a podcaster about having yourself or a client of yours on their show or my show.
Speaker BIf you haven't listened to it, you don't know if you're right for me or not or your client is right for me or not.
Speaker BIf you haven't listened to my show or whoever's show you're thinking about pitching your client for two.
Speaker BI Can't stress that enough.
Speaker BIt's very, very important that you do that, otherwise you lose credibility with the podcaster.
Speaker BNow, we're not these gods out there because we have podcasts and, oh, you know, you know, so and so turned me down.
Speaker BOr this or that.
Speaker BThat's.
Speaker BThat's not what this is about.
Speaker BThis is about.
Speaker BYou need to understand what the podcast is.
Speaker BAnd you can't listen to just one and go by the.
Speaker BThe title, the show title, or a quick browse of the show notes.
Speaker BThat doesn't tell you what the entire show is about, now does it?
Speaker BNo.
Speaker BSo please, please, if you're gonna pitch me, pitch me.
Speaker BSomebody make sure you've listened to my podcast.
Speaker BThat's just common courtesy and good business sense.
Speaker BSo let's get off of that now.
Speaker BTold you.
Speaker BI started my diet a little couple weeks ago and I took my second injection this past Saturday because they got me on WeGovy.
Speaker BWe govy.
Speaker BNo, I'm on.
Speaker BI'm the same person that's on the commercials, except I don't have to lose that much weight.
Speaker BI've already lost five or six pounds since I've been on WeGovy.
Speaker BSo McGovi is a shot that you give yourself and you have to keep it refrigerated.
Speaker BRefrigerated.
Speaker BRefrigerated.
Speaker BYes.
Speaker BHonest, folks, I am drinking Diet Coke today.
Speaker BI'm not drinking beer yet, but doing this.
Speaker BSo that was an honest mistake.
Speaker BAnyway, it changes your attitude, supposedly towards food.
Speaker BNow, we cooked a big dinner here last night, had Swiss steak and I.
Speaker BMy eyes were way bigger than my stomach, but normally that's what I would have put on my plate.
Speaker BAnd yesterday I could eat about half of that.
Speaker BIt's working.
Speaker BI. I stopped today also after a trip to the hospital for a test.
Speaker BI'll tell you about that in a second.
Speaker BI stopped at Cracker Barrel because I wanted to see if they had done anything to the Cracker Barrel that's closest to me.
Speaker BThey had painted the outside.
Speaker BIt looked nice and fresh, which was nice when I walked inside past all the rocking chairs and everything.
Speaker BThe inside was a lot like it used to be with all the things for sale.
Speaker BThe interior looked repainted in the.
Speaker BOh goodness, the dining room.
Speaker BI couldn't think of dining room.
Speaker BNew tables, new chairs, looked nice, first coat of paint, but it still had all the old style things on the walls.
Speaker BI enjoyed that.
Speaker BIt still had that game with the golf pin, you know, the, the golf tees on the triangle.
Speaker BI, I found that to be nice too, but they looked nice and new.
Speaker BIt was okay.
Speaker BIt was fine.
Speaker BI don't see anything wrong with it at all.
Speaker BI really don't.
Speaker BSo the only thing I did notice is that this one serves beer, wine, and a few mixed drinks, which I don't remember happening before.
Speaker BAnd I texted a friend of mine because we used to go once in a while years ago, probably eight, ten years ago now, or 15 even.
Speaker BMaybe it's.
Speaker BAnd yeah, she didn't remember there being boat, you know, beer, wine, or any kind of alcohol either.
Speaker BAnd I didn't.
Speaker BSo that's what, that's what happened there.
Speaker BThen I, you know, I came back and I, I started getting ready for this.
Speaker BBut I did go to the hospital today because I had to have a CAT scan.
Speaker BMy doctor wanted.
Speaker BBecause of this Wegovy, they worry about your chest, and then they also worry about your thyroid because if there's any, Any history in your family of thyroid disease, you can't use this medication, and I don't have any.
Speaker BBut.
Speaker BSo today was a, Was a chest ct. A CAT scan two weeks from now is a thyroid ultrasound.
Speaker BI don't.
Speaker BAnyway, today's.
Speaker BI didn't have to do prep for.
Speaker BI just went in and I'll be honest, folks, I was in and out of that machine in 10 seconds.
Speaker BIt seemed like she laid me.
Speaker BShe had me lay down.
Speaker BI didn't have to change my clothes, nothing.
Speaker BYou know, just take my cross and put it up over my, you know, my shoulder so it couldn't be seen.
Speaker BThe table raised up and pushed me in to.
Speaker BTo the machine.
Speaker BAnd as soon as I got there, it said, it said in a, In a British accent, breathe in, hold.
Speaker BAnd five seconds later, maybe seven, I was coming.
Speaker BShe goes, feel, feel, Please breathe.
Speaker BAnd I was coming out of the machine, and I thought, well, maybe something went wrong.
Speaker BThey need to re.
Speaker BTo reposition me.
Speaker BAnd the technician goes, you're all set.
Speaker BYou're kidding me.
Speaker BThat's all.
Speaker BIt took it that fast, folks?
Speaker BIt really, really did.
Speaker BThe technology today, compared to just seven years ago, is amazing because I remember the CAT scan I went for when I had my, My prostate cancer, and it was a lot longer than the, like seven or eight seconds, you know, so it's.
Speaker BIt's good for us.
Speaker BIt.
Speaker BThe new technologies that are coming through are good for us, I think, and I hope they are.
Speaker BThey're.
Speaker BThey're good for you if you're needing them, and I hope you're not needing them.
Speaker BSo with that being said, we're running A little long.
Speaker BI wanted to say a couple of quick things.
Speaker BThis is being recorded for video.
Speaker BIt's going to go out on YouTube.
Speaker BProbably not until tomorrow because I have to edit that and I want to get the, the intro in there and everything else.
Speaker BBut I wanted you to know that this was video and it's going to be available on YouTube.
Speaker BUnder 5 minutes with gray Hair Dave.
Speaker BJust like everything else.
Speaker BThere's five minutes of Gray Hair Dave when it comes to the video stuff.
Speaker BNow, the podcast is already in YouTube as an audio with a static picture of the COVID art.
Speaker BOkay, that's already there.
Speaker BThere's already 169 of them.
Speaker BThis is episode 170, folks.
Speaker BCan you believe that?
Speaker B170 episodes.
Speaker BI'm ecstatic about that.
Speaker BWe won't hit 200 by the end of the year, but, you know, we got some time.
Speaker BBut I just.
Speaker BSo go to that.
Speaker BGo to YouTube and, and watch it, see if you like it and give me, give me feedback, give me comments.
Speaker BI am new to doing this face to face on, on YouTube.
Speaker BOkay.

Speaker BBut I want your comments.
Speaker BI want your, your yays and your nays and, and, and I'm going to take them with the, the intent that they're given.
Speaker BAnd hopefully that's a great intent to help me get better at this.
