Welcome to five Minutes with Gray Hair Dave.
Speaker AHe has gray hair and he has a gray beard.
Speaker AAnd he also wears glasses like the guy in the artwork.
Speaker AOh, and the guy in the artwork is better looking.
Speaker ANow, tariff free.
Speaker AHere is Gray Hair Dave.
Speaker BWell, well, well, folks.
Speaker BWhat did you think?
Speaker BOh, of that.
Speaker BThat opening There is by 11 Labs IO.
Speaker BI use them for the intros and I've been playing with it today.
Speaker B11 Labs IO.
Speaker BRemember I told you I was going to do that and I did it.
Speaker BI was doing some more of it today.
Speaker BAnd if you get a chance on Christmas Day, which is in three days.
Speaker BWell, it's actually in two days.
Speaker BSo this is.
Speaker BI'm recording this on the 22nd.
Speaker BSo it's three days.
Speaker BTomorrow's Tuesday, then there's Wednesday, then Thursday is Christmas.
Speaker BGo to Facebook and go to Gray Hair Dave or at Gray Hair Dave, and you'll see what I came up with and what I built on 11 labs.
Speaker BNow, I did all this with a.
Speaker BWith their AI and it's.
Speaker BIt's pretty good.
Speaker BIt really is.
Speaker BIt's.
Speaker BIt's.
Speaker BIt's not bad at all.
Speaker BI wanted you to know that.
Speaker BSo there you are.
Speaker BI did also want you to know that the AI I've been working with, Perplexity Lab AI, well, it hasn't been giving me any good results.
Speaker BAnd remember I told you I was going to reduce the parameters?
Speaker BI reduced the parameters, and it gave me the same thing four days in a row because nothing new had been posted.
Speaker BSo I'm going to put that on pause for a couple of weeks until the next.
Speaker BUntil, you know, the second week of.
Speaker BWell, actually, not even the second week.
Speaker BLet me pull up a calendar here.
Speaker BI'm going to start working on it the week of the weekend of January.
Speaker B3rd and 4th.
Speaker B3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th are my days off.
Speaker BSo I'll start working on it then.
Speaker BBut my new plan is for.
Speaker BI want to start a newsletter for Gray Hair Productions, and I'm going to use Perplexity Labs to help me find articles about podcasting and how to podcast so that I can start getting my newsletter out and hopefully start getting subscribers.
Speaker BI really would like to have some subscribers.
Speaker BI'd like to have something.
Speaker BSo that's what I was going to go do next.
Speaker BAnd then what I think I'm going to do is I'm going to.
Speaker BI'm just going to change the.
Speaker BThe way I'm going to do Perplexity for looking for work is to just have it go once a week, maybe twice, maybe Like Wednesday and, or, I'm sorry, Tuesday and Friday and have it look only at Reddit and I'm going to take it right to where it needs to go and have it try it that way and see if I, if I get better results.
Speaker BNow, I know this experiment hasn't gone as I planned, but then again, how many light bulbs did Edison make before or try to make before he found the one that worked?
Speaker BSo how do you know if you don't keep trying and if you don't fail?
Speaker BFailure is part of learning, and I'm a firm believer in that now.
Speaker BThink of it however you want, but that's the way I'm kind of looking at it right now.
Speaker BI failed.
Speaker BOh, I failed.
Speaker BOh, no.
Speaker BJust kidding.
Speaker BOh.
Speaker BWhat else is going on?
Speaker BWe're going to get off of that for a while.
Speaker BSo I have been also, this last couple of weeks, I, I signed up for a company called skillshare.
Speaker BAnd skillshare has the ability to really give you a.
Speaker BA variety of subjects you can learn.
Speaker BAnd I, and I suggest you go and look at it.
Speaker BI'm gonna, I think I'm an affiliate.
Speaker BI want to put a link in the show, notes about it.
Speaker BAnd I'm gonna, I'm gonna tell you this.
Speaker BI've already gone through three programs.
Speaker BOne of them is Da Vinci Resolve, this great gentleman from Europe, and he's very, very good at teaching it.
Speaker BAnd I've also been watching on YouTube, Daniel Batal on Fusion, the Fusion page in DaVinci Resolve.
Speaker BHe is excellent at doing these things.
Speaker BHe's excellent at teaching, and he's got a great demeanor.
Speaker BHe's very fun to watch.
Speaker BSo if you go to YouTube and look up Daniel Patel or as a B, a T, a L, it's worth watching.
Speaker BIf you're into video, you know, video editing.
Speaker BNow, most people nowadays, I use that term, you know, loosely.
Speaker BMost people nowadays are posting things online.
Speaker BNot everybody.
Speaker BSome people are posting videos, some people are not.
Speaker BI am going to start with Boomer podcasters, and I think that it's going to work just fine.
Speaker BAnd I hope that it does.
Speaker BAnd I hope, if it's something you are interested in doing, is becoming a podcaster, is that you go to my YouTube page and it'll be Gray Hair Dave.
Speaker BAnd it is Gray Hair Dave right now.
Speaker BBut that's where all the podcasts are and all the videos for podcasts.
Speaker BI'm not recording a video today of what I'm doing.
Speaker BIt's Christmas time.
Speaker BI didn't feel like getting it all out.
Speaker BI was doing some things and I thought to myself, oh, geez, I haven't recorded yet.
Speaker BYeah, it's.
Speaker BIt's been.
Speaker BThere's dogs around there barking their heads off too.
Speaker BAnd that's my fault for not closing the window.
Speaker BBut yeah, I decided not to do video on this one.
Speaker BThis podcast started off as audio only and the video portion was an experiment.
Speaker BSo we'll try it that way.
Speaker BIf I end up re recording this because I don't like it, I'll do video.
Speaker BBut that'll be tomorrow.
Speaker BWhat else is happening?
Speaker BWell, let's see the.
Speaker BOh, hey.
Speaker BYeah, this is Christmas week.
Speaker BSo that's a really weird, weird situation happened with me.
Speaker BI only got scheduled for one day this week at work and that's the 24th, so they.
Speaker BI guess so you don't have to pay me time and a half.
Speaker BI don't know.
Speaker BI really know.
Speaker BI know the reason why, but.
Speaker BAnd I've never had Christmas off.
Speaker BAnd all the years that I've worked, you know, that I've worked for the most part, maybe one or two, but it's rare because I usually volunteer to work or we'll take somebody's shift who has a family so that they can be home with their family on Christmas Day.
Speaker BI've always done that.
Speaker BBut I, I was talking with my friends and we're going to get together and gonna get to.
Speaker BI already went out and I bought a.
Speaker BA nice big.
Speaker BA gorgeous prime ribbon.
Speaker BNow I waited a little long.
Speaker BI got mine a couple days ago and it was like nine something a pound.
Speaker BTalking to a lady who got hers early last week and she paid five something a pound.
Speaker BWell, this is what I get for being late, right?
Speaker BThis is what happens.
Speaker BYou're late, you're late.
Speaker BBut you know, they.
Speaker BIt was.
Speaker BI think I got one that was seven pounds.
Speaker BThat should feed the four or five of us that are going to be here.
Speaker BAnd my friend's going to cook it for us.
Speaker BShe's really good at that.
Speaker BAnd then we're going to have some, you know, some, some regular things like potato, you know, mashed potatoes and beans and.
Speaker BAnd there'll probably be a pie and some cookies.
Speaker BSo that's what I'm doing for Christmas, folks.
Speaker BWhat are you doing?
Speaker BWhy don't you leave me a message on Five Minutes with Gray Hair day?

Speaker BShow them how to get there, show them the different genres.
Speaker BUse 5 minutes of gray Hair Dave as the example.
Speaker BNow, you could take them to Spotify, you could take them to wherever you want to go, but it's just easier to go to, you know, Apple podcasts or Google Play and go to the podcast page, show them what we can do.
Speaker BShow them what they can listen to.
Speaker BI mean, show, you know, if their interests are golf, there's lots of them on golf.
Speaker BTheir interests are our boats.
Speaker BLots of them on boats.
Speaker BTrue crime news, you name it, it's out there.
