Speaker A

Welcome to five Minutes with Gray Hair Dave.

Speaker A

He has gray hair and he has a gray beard.

Speaker A

And he also wears glasses like the guy in the artwork.

Speaker A

Oh, and the guy in the artwork is better looking.

Speaker A

Now, tariff free.

Speaker A

Here is Gray Hair Dave.

Speaker B

Well, well, well, folks.

Speaker B

What did you think?

Speaker B

Oh, of that.

Speaker B

That opening There is by 11 Labs IO.

Speaker B

I use them for the intros and I've been playing with it today.

Speaker B

11 Labs IO.

Speaker B

Remember I told you I was going to do that and I did it.

Speaker B

I was doing some more of it today.

Speaker B

And if you get a chance on Christmas Day, which is in three days.

Speaker B

Well, it's actually in two days.

Speaker B

So this is.

Speaker B

I'm recording this on the 22nd.

Speaker B

So it's three days.

Speaker B

Tomorrow's Tuesday, then there's Wednesday, then Thursday is Christmas.

Speaker B

Go to Facebook and go to Gray Hair Dave or at Gray Hair Dave, and you'll see what I came up with and what I built on 11 labs.

Speaker B

Now, I did all this with a.

Speaker B

With their AI and it's.

Speaker B

It's pretty good.

Speaker B

It really is.

Speaker B

It's.

Speaker B

It's.

Speaker B

It's not bad at all.

Speaker B

I wanted you to know that.

Speaker B

So there you are.

Speaker B

I did also want you to know that the AI I've been working with, Perplexity Lab AI, well, it hasn't been giving me any good results.

Speaker B

And remember I told you I was going to reduce the parameters?

Speaker B

I reduced the parameters, and it gave me the same thing four days in a row because nothing new had been posted.

Speaker B

So I'm going to put that on pause for a couple of weeks until the next.

Speaker B

Until, you know, the second week of.

Speaker B

Well, actually, not even the second week.

Speaker B

Let me pull up a calendar here.

Speaker B

I'm going to start working on it the week of the weekend of January.

Speaker B

3rd and 4th.

Speaker B

3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th are my days off.

Speaker B

So I'll start working on it then.

Speaker B

But my new plan is for.

Speaker B

I want to start a newsletter for Gray Hair Productions, and I'm going to use Perplexity Labs to help me find articles about podcasting and how to podcast so that I can start getting my newsletter out and hopefully start getting subscribers.

Speaker B

I really would like to have some subscribers.

Speaker B

I'd like to have something.

Speaker B

So that's what I was going to go do next.

Speaker B

And then what I think I'm going to do is I'm going to.

Speaker B

I'm just going to change the.

Speaker B

The way I'm going to do Perplexity for looking for work is to just have it go once a week, maybe twice, maybe Like Wednesday and, or, I'm sorry, Tuesday and Friday and have it look only at Reddit and I'm going to take it right to where it needs to go and have it try it that way and see if I, if I get better results.

Speaker B

Now, I know this experiment hasn't gone as I planned, but then again, how many light bulbs did Edison make before or try to make before he found the one that worked?

Speaker B

So how do you know if you don't keep trying and if you don't fail?

Speaker B

Failure is part of learning, and I'm a firm believer in that now.

Speaker B

Think of it however you want, but that's the way I'm kind of looking at it right now.

Speaker B

I failed.

Speaker B

Oh, I failed.

Speaker B

Oh, no.

Speaker B

Just kidding.

Speaker B

Oh.

Speaker B

What else is going on?

Speaker B

We're going to get off of that for a while.

Speaker B

So I have been also, this last couple of weeks, I, I signed up for a company called skillshare.

Speaker B

And skillshare has the ability to really give you a.

Speaker B

A variety of subjects you can learn.

Speaker B

And I, and I suggest you go and look at it.

Speaker B

I'm gonna, I think I'm an affiliate.

Speaker B

I want to put a link in the show, notes about it.

Speaker B

And I'm gonna, I'm gonna tell you this.

Speaker B

I've already gone through three programs.

Speaker B

One of them is Da Vinci Resolve, this great gentleman from Europe, and he's very, very good at teaching it.

Speaker B

And I've also been watching on YouTube, Daniel Batal on Fusion, the Fusion page in DaVinci Resolve.

Speaker B

He is excellent at doing these things.

Speaker B

He's excellent at teaching, and he's got a great demeanor.

Speaker B

He's very fun to watch.

Speaker B

So if you go to YouTube and look up Daniel Patel or as a B, a T, a L, it's worth watching.

Speaker B

If you're into video, you know, video editing.

Speaker B

Now, most people nowadays, I use that term, you know, loosely.

Speaker B

Most people nowadays are posting things online.

Speaker B

Not everybody.

Speaker B

Some people are posting videos, some people are not.

Speaker B

I am going to start with Boomer podcasters, and I think that it's going to work just fine.

Speaker B

And I hope that it does.

Speaker B

And I hope, if it's something you are interested in doing, is becoming a podcaster, is that you go to my YouTube page and it'll be Gray Hair Dave.

Speaker B

And it is Gray Hair Dave right now.

Speaker B

But that's where all the podcasts are and all the videos for podcasts.

Speaker B

I'm not recording a video today of what I'm doing.

Speaker B

It's Christmas time.

Speaker B

I didn't feel like getting it all out.

Speaker B

I was doing some things and I thought to myself, oh, geez, I haven't recorded yet.

Speaker B

Yeah, it's.

Speaker B

It's been.

Speaker B

There's dogs around there barking their heads off too.

Speaker B

And that's my fault for not closing the window.

Speaker B

But yeah, I decided not to do video on this one.

Speaker B

This podcast started off as audio only and the video portion was an experiment.

Speaker B

So we'll try it that way.

Speaker B

If I end up re recording this because I don't like it, I'll do video.

Speaker B

But that'll be tomorrow.

Speaker B

What else is happening?

Speaker B

Well, let's see the.

Speaker B

Oh, hey.

Speaker B

Yeah, this is Christmas week.

Speaker B

So that's a really weird, weird situation happened with me.

Speaker B

I only got scheduled for one day this week at work and that's the 24th, so they.

Speaker B

I guess so you don't have to pay me time and a half.

Speaker B

I don't know.

Speaker B

I really know.

Speaker B

I know the reason why, but.

Speaker B

And I've never had Christmas off.

Speaker B

And all the years that I've worked, you know, that I've worked for the most part, maybe one or two, but it's rare because I usually volunteer to work or we'll take somebody's shift who has a family so that they can be home with their family on Christmas Day.

Speaker B

I've always done that.

Speaker B

But I, I was talking with my friends and we're going to get together and gonna get to.

Speaker B

I already went out and I bought a.

Speaker B

A nice big.

Speaker B

A gorgeous prime ribbon.

Speaker B

Now I waited a little long.

Speaker B

I got mine a couple days ago and it was like nine something a pound.

Speaker B

Talking to a lady who got hers early last week and she paid five something a pound.

Speaker B

Well, this is what I get for being late, right?

Speaker B

This is what happens.

Speaker B

You're late, you're late.

Speaker B

But you know, they.

Speaker B

It was.

Speaker B

I think I got one that was seven pounds.

Speaker B

That should feed the four or five of us that are going to be here.

Speaker B

And my friend's going to cook it for us.

Speaker B

She's really good at that.

Speaker B

And then we're going to have some, you know, some, some regular things like potato, you know, mashed potatoes and beans and.

Speaker B

And there'll probably be a pie and some cookies.

Speaker B

So that's what I'm doing for Christmas, folks.

Speaker B

What are you doing?

Speaker B

Why don't you leave me a message on Five Minutes with Gray Hair day?

Speaker B

That's the number.

Speaker B

Five Minutes with Gray Hair.

Speaker B

Dave.

Speaker B

Leave me a message, let me know what you've been doing or what you're going to do for Christmas this year.

Speaker B

Also, if there's something you want to hear about or want me to talk to you about.

Speaker B

Go to the Contact Me page on my website.

Speaker B

Five minutes of Gray Hair Dave.

Speaker B

That's the number.

Speaker B

Five minutes with gray hair Dave.

Speaker B

Go to the Contact Me page or go to the little microphone at the bottom right hand corner and leave me a voicemail.

Speaker B

Let me know if you'd want me to try something or look at something and see if we can figure this out together.

Speaker B

It'd be fun.

Speaker B

Also, excuse me, if you know somebody who might want to be a podcaster or if you.

Speaker B

You.

Speaker B

Yeah, you.

Speaker B

I'm talking to you.

Speaker A

You're.

Speaker B

You're listening in your ears right now.

Speaker A

Dave.

Speaker A

Show me how to podcast.

Speaker B

Go to boomerpodcasters.com Again, that's a boomer.

Speaker B

Podcasters.com.

Speaker B

go to the Contact Me page or the little microphone, the bottom right hand corner.

Speaker B

Leave.

Speaker B

Whoops, sorry.

Speaker B

Leave me a message.

Speaker B

Just hit the microphone.

Speaker B

Also, folks, if you know somebody who doesn't know where to find a podcast, doesn't know what a podcast is, now, I would be very shocked if you found very many people that you know who doesn't know what a podcast is, but there might be some out there who still don't know.

Speaker B

Do me a favor, do all of us a favor who are podcasters, including you.

Speaker A

You're going to be your podcaster, Dave says Gregor.

Speaker A

Dave is smart and wise and says.

Speaker B

You need to podcast anyways.

Speaker B

Pick up their phone, show them where it is on their phone, whether it's an Android or an Apple.

Speaker B

Show them how to get there, show them the different genres.

Speaker B

Use 5 minutes of gray Hair Dave as the example.

Speaker B

Now, you could take them to Spotify, you could take them to wherever you want to go, but it's just easier to go to, you know, Apple podcasts or Google Play and go to the podcast page, show them what we can do.

Speaker B

Show them what they can listen to.

Speaker B

I mean, show, you know, if their interests are golf, there's lots of them on golf.

Speaker B

Their interests are our boats.

Speaker B

Lots of them on boats.

Speaker B

True crime news, you name it, it's out there.

Speaker B

Next thing, folks, if you are out and about the next few days, you walking by somebody you don't know, smile, wave, say merry Christmas, say hi.

Speaker B

It's going to make their day and it'll in turn make yours.

Speaker B

So this is Gray Hair Day, saying, I wish you all a Merry Christmas, a happy Hanukkah, happy Kwanzaa, whatever holiday you are celebrating right now, I hope it's joyful and and wonderful for you.

Speaker B

I wish you all the best for the rest of the year.

Speaker B

And next year, I wish you even more of the best.

Speaker B

You all are, are my favorite people in the world because you listen to me.

Speaker B

So thank you for that.

Speaker B

You are my blessing this year.

Speaker B

You are my Christmas present.

Speaker B

You have given to me more than you know.

Speaker B

So thank you.

Speaker B

Merry Christmas.

Speaker B

Happy New Year.

Speaker B

There is one more show before the end of the year.

Speaker B

You got.

Speaker B

You got to be here.

Speaker B

I don't know what it's going to be about yet, but be here, folks.

Speaker B

Bye bye and have a happy holidays.
