Welcome to Five Minutes with Grey Hair Dave, the podcast where Grey Hair Dave talks about what is happening in a baby boomer's life and in his life, present and past.
Speaker ASo sit back and relax.
Speaker AHere is Grey Hair Dave.
Speaker AHello, folks.
Speaker AWhat did you think of that?
Speaker AThat was elevenlabs IO.
Speaker AThey are my intro people.
Speaker AWhat I do is I.
Speaker AI go to 11 labs IO, I type in what it is I want to.
Speaker AWant to say, and it gives me.
Speaker AIt gives me a choice of.
Speaker AOf characters that I can use, and it'll read it for me.
Speaker ARead what exactly what I typed in there.
Speaker AAnd it's.
Speaker AIt's really kind of fun that way.
Speaker AI get a lot of different things, and depending on how much you use, it depends on how much it costs per month.
Speaker AIt is a.
Speaker AIt's a program that costs, so, you know, it's free for a certain point, but then it costs okay.
Speaker AAnd I don't mind paying $5 a month.
Speaker AIt's not bothering me.
Speaker ASo here we go.
Speaker AWe're gonna let you know that we are also recording video today for boomer podcasters.
Speaker AI'm showing people how we record into a daw, a digital audio workstation.
Speaker AIt's all on my computer now.
Speaker AI'm running on my Mac right now just for everybody out there.
Speaker ASo, you know, I'm running my.
Speaker AMy Logic Pro 10.
Speaker AI'm running Hindenburg.
Speaker AOkay, Running Hindenburg.
Speaker AAnd I'm also running Ecamm Live, and this is on a Apple MacBook Air M1, so it's about five years old, and it's still running like a pro.
Speaker AAnd this is what I can am able to do.
Speaker ASo what's happening in your world today, Dave?
Speaker ADave?
Speaker AWell, Gray Hair day is World Day.
Speaker AIt's Memorial Day here in the United States, which is a time where we.
Speaker AWe remember those who have fallen in the past.
Speaker AEspecially we are remembering the military.
Speaker AAnybody who has fallen in the military, we try and remember and celebrate today.
Speaker AAnd I also look at it as a time to remember family and friends who've gone.
Speaker AI believe that memorial means all.
Speaker AI mean, it's to remember everything.
Speaker AAnd you all know my mom and my dad have passed already, and earlier this year, we lost my nephew Bob.
Speaker ASo it's one of those days where there's a lot of remembering now here in America, it's also a day for celebrating, it seems like.
Speaker ASo we're celebrating their lives, but it's also a time for people to get together, family and friends, and usually cook out or barbecue or get together and have a meal and have a good time enjoying each other's company.
Speaker ASometimes these things get out of hand.
Speaker ABut not the ones I ever go to.
Speaker ABut I don't want you to think that if, if you're from defined countries that are listening out there like Russia and China, India, oh goodness.
Speaker AWe're also pretty big in Germany and in Australia.
Speaker AIndia's in there too.
Speaker AThank you for listening.
Speaker AWe're not all drunken idiots over here.
Speaker AIt depends on where you're looking what day of the week it is.
Speaker ABut anyways, that's what it is.
Speaker AIt's a three day weekend for us.
Speaker AAnd for most people, you know, they get a three day weekend, they don't have to work today.
Speaker AAnd for those who do have to work today, I understand because I usually do.
Speaker AI think I worked it this year so that I get most of the holidays off when I went part time.
Speaker AI think I have to look at Christmas and Christmas doesn't mean that much to me anymore.
Speaker AIt's a day where, you know, I have, I don't have family around.
Speaker ASo it's not a big, as big a deal for me.
Speaker AI talk to my brothers on Christmas, but let's not get into all that.
Speaker ASo as it's happening around here, what's happening in your world, are you having a good time today?
Speaker AAre you having a good time this week?
Speaker AIt doesn't matter what time you're listening to this.
Speaker AI hope you're having a good time.
Speaker AA lot of we're changed subjects here.
Speaker AJust so you know.
Speaker AThere's been a lot of talk in the, in the American politics about this 747 that was made a gift to the President of the United States when he was over there in, I'm not sure if it was Qatar.
Speaker AYeah, I think it was Qatar.
Speaker AThey offered him a 747 because it's taken so long to get the new ones made here because ours are, the two 747s that they're running now are in excellent condition but they're getting older and there's newer technologies out there and, and, but so the big hoopla is he can't.
Speaker AIt's all about that.
Speaker AAnd if you watch any American politics, you know what I'm talking about.
Speaker AIt's just the wacky doodleness that goes on.
Speaker AAnd I am, I'm so glad that I never did go into politics.
Speaker AThere was a time in my life, and I think I've mentioned this, that I did want to go into politics.
Speaker AI really did.
Speaker AI thought I'd be.
Speaker AI'd be good at it.
Speaker AI like to help people.
Speaker AI like to help my community.
Speaker AAnd I thought that that would be a great way to give back.
Speaker AAnd when I see all the, all the stupid things that go on nowadays, I'm so glad I didn't go there, you know, I really, really am.
Speaker ANot that I don't think I would have been good, but it's just to get there.
Speaker AThe, the mudsling, the backstabbing, the.
Speaker AOh my gosh, it's, it's ridiculous.
Speaker AYou know, I haven't, I haven't lived a perfect life.
Speaker AI just haven't.
Speaker AI don't know those among us who could have led the perfect life or who did, but yet we expect this out of our politicians.
Speaker ANow, you're going to think that I'm talking about a movie called the American President because he said that in there.
Speaker AAnd it's, but it's a true statement.
Speaker AWe expect more out of our, out of our leaders than we do of ourselves.
Speaker AWe all make mistakes.
Speaker AWe've all made mistakes.
Speaker AWe're all going to continue to make mistakes.
Speaker AThe only one who doesn't make mistakes is God.
Speaker AAnd none of us are God.
Speaker AGod is within us, but we are not God.
Speaker ASo he's the only one doesn't make mistakes.
Speaker ANow, there's a couple of things that make you wonder.
Speaker AThe platypus, I mean.
Speaker AYeah, okay.
Speaker AIs it a beaver?
Speaker AIs it.
Speaker AWhat is it?
Speaker AAnyway, I'll get off of that track.
Speaker ADon't want my people, that our friends at Sea World to get all upset with me.
Speaker AWhat else is going on?
Speaker AYou know, I, I, I, I don't want to talk about myself too much today, but had a rather large setback last week when it comes to my foot.
Speaker AAnd it, it today, even today, it still, it's God.
Speaker AIt hurts like hell.
Speaker AI don't know what I did to it.
Speaker AAll I know is I went for therapy on Friday and oh my God, I could hardly walk to get in.
Speaker AThey treated me very, very nicely and they didn't push me hard enough that I heard it more.
Speaker ABut man, oh man, I tell you, I just, oh, I hurt.
Speaker AI hurt hard.
Speaker ASo anyways, been doing a lot of icing.
Speaker AYou know, I ice about every hour or two and then I know, except when I'm sleeping and I'm on new medicine, which is cool.
Speaker ADoctor sent over some, something different.
Speaker ADidn't want me to hurt myself because, you know, you don't want to take ibuprofen for too long.
Speaker AIt can hurt your stomach.
Speaker ABut that was one of the anti inflammatories I was on.
Speaker ASo that's about all I've got for today that I can think of.
Speaker AI, I don't know of anything else I really want to talk about.
Speaker ANow.
Speaker AI may re record this, I may not.
Speaker AI doubt it.
Speaker ABut I wanted to use this for, for purposes other than just five Minutes of Gray Hair Dave.
Speaker AI wanted to use this for Boomer podcasters too, because they need to know and see what all this is happening here.
Speaker ASo I'm going to show them and record all this while I am, while I'm doing this, which is what I've done.
Speaker AAnd then I'm going to go and I'm going to show them how to edit it, how to enhance it, and then how to publish it all today.
Speaker ASo.
Speaker AWell, I'm not gonna, I'm gonna do all that, but it won't all come out in one podcast or video podcast.
Speaker AIt's going to come out probably in two or three.
Speaker ABreak it up.
Speaker ABut that's what's going on here.
Speaker ASo thank you for being patient with me today and allowing me, my faithful listeners at Five Minutes with Gray Hair Dave, to use you as an example.

Speaker AIt's not a ball cap.
Speaker AI'm just trying something different.
Speaker AIt's not a new look for me.
Speaker AIt's just, I don't know, every once in a while I like to try something different.
Speaker AAnd that's what it's going to be today.
Speaker AYep.
Speaker AThat or I can turn it around, be really cool.
Speaker AI can do it like that.
Speaker AEither way, it's not a ball cap, but it is what it is.

Speaker AI want to keep it for myself.

Speaker AI'm sorry, it's a Phoenix by Behringer.
Speaker AI like that one a lot.
Speaker AAlso, I have a.
Speaker AA really good one.
Speaker AIt's a Scarlet 2i2i2.
Speaker ANo, it's a 1i2 1i1 1 in, one out.
