AI Innovations: Exploring New Ideas in Podcasting

AI Innovations: Exploring New Ideas in Podcasting

This podcast episode delves into the details of a recent medical appointment, during which I received a cortisone shot and received encouraging news regarding my weight loss journey. Furthermore, I share my ongoing exploration of innovative ideas, particularly the integration of artificial intelligence into my creative processes. I recount how various AI tools, such as Chat GPT and Perplexity, have significantly assisted me in organizing and structuring my projects, thus enhancing my productivity. Additionally, I reflect on the implications of AI in our daily lives and its potential to streamline various tasks. As I navigate these experiences, I invite listeners to consider the transformative power of technology in both personal and professional spheres. The recent podcast episode illuminating a personal experience surrounding a doctor’s appointment serves as a poignant reflection on health management and the emotional complexities associated with ongoing medical conditions. The speaker articulates the nuances of his visit, detailing the administration of a cortisone shot, which, while ostensibly a routine procedure, symbolizes the broader struggles of dealing with physical limitations. The narrative unfolds to reveal a juxtaposition of temporary relief against the backdrop of persistent restrictions, offering listeners a candid glimpse into the realities of living with chronic health issues. As the speaker shares the positive outcome of weight loss, achieved through a significant lifestyle modification, he underscores the psychological victories that accompany physical improvements, fostering a deeper understanding of the interrelation between mental and physical health. Furthermore, the discourse transitions into an exploration of technological integration in personal projects, particularly the innovative use of artificial intelligence. The speaker expresses enthusiasm for AI tools, such as Chat GPT and Perplexity, illustrating how these advancements facilitate creative endeavors and project planning. By sharing the specifics of how AI assisted in the development of a presentation deck, the speaker not only highlights the efficiency of these technologies but also encourages listeners to embrace such tools as facilitators of productivity. Speaker A

Hey, on today's show, gonna talk a little bit about a doctor's appointment I had today, how all that went.

Speaker A

Also gonna talk a little bit about a new idea I've got going on and how I'm using AI so stay tuned, here it comes.

Speaker B

Welcome to five minutes with Grey Hair Dave.

Speaker B

He has gray hair and he has a gray beard and he also wears glasses like the guy in the artwork.

Speaker B

Oh, and the guy in the artwork is better looking now, tariff free.

Speaker B

Here is Grey Hair Dave.

Speaker A

Well, well, well, folks.

Speaker A

What did you think of that?

Speaker A

That was 11 labs IO.

Speaker A

They're the ones who do all my pre show stuff.

Speaker A

I like it.

Speaker A

I like what they do.

Speaker A

I think they do a fine job.

Speaker A

They've got all kinds of interesting things over there.

Speaker A

So if you are in interested, pop on over there and see what they've got to offer and use the link in the show notes.

Speaker A

And if you sign up, I will get a little bit of a kickback, as they say.

Speaker A

It's not really a kickback, it's an affiliate program.

Speaker A

So they will give me an affiliate kick, you know, payment, which would be nice.

Speaker A

It helps to offset the costs for this show.

Speaker A

So what's happening, folks?

Speaker A

I hope you're having a great day.

Speaker A

I'm having a good day today.

Speaker A

I, I went to the doctor today for my foot.

Speaker A

All is well.

Speaker A

Not all as well.

Speaker A

I still have permanent restrictions and I still have limitations that I can and can't do.

Speaker A

I did get a wonderful little cortisone shot today though.

Speaker A

And aren't cortisone shots just the most fun you ever had?

Speaker A

Right.

Speaker A

But my doctor did notice that I had lost weight and yes, it's £56 as of today.

Speaker A

I'm pretty excited about that.

Speaker A

Now as of today, I am off of WeGovy.

Speaker A

I stopped a week ago last Saturday.

Speaker A

So it's been eight, nine days and then everything's going fine.

Speaker A

I'm happy.

Speaker A

I, I tested it today.

Speaker A

I went to Denny's and had my regular meal that I would have for breakfast, which is an all American slam, which I like.

Speaker A

That's basically three scrambled eggs, hash browns, two sausage links, three bacon strips and a piece two pieces of toast.

Speaker A

Normally I can eat that right up, it's no big deal.

Speaker A

But today, not so much.

Speaker A

I couldn't finish the meal, which was kind of odd for me.

Speaker A

I mean, I know that I have less of an appetite, which is good.

Speaker A

That's going to help me not eat so much and be better at that.

Speaker A

But it's been, it's been an interesting ride with that because, you know, you, it seems weird to me that I'm not eating as much, but then I'm not as hungry, which is cool.

Speaker A

I had a couple beers last week at the Disney celebration, which I think I told you about, and I had a couple of beers since then, but nothing really did it, you know, there was no, well, I got to have a whole lot of this.

Speaker A

So that's a good thing in my mind really is.

Speaker A

So that of course will add calories to you, but, you know, that's what's going on.

Speaker A

So I wanted to also tell you that I had an idea last Friday.

Speaker A

Now I've been kicking this idea around for months.

Speaker A

It was back last year when my sister in law passed.

Speaker A

Then I went and I visited my brother, you know, before I went to the airport where he's, he's staying in a senior senior living facility.

Speaker A

And I found that interesting.

Speaker A

Now.

Speaker A

Yeah, would I like to go live in a city and where he's living in that kind of place?

Speaker A

Geez, yeah, it's a great place.

Speaker A

But I had another thought and it has a lot to do with that.

Speaker A

So I, last Friday and all weekend have been planning on how I'm going to approach this new part of the, of the project for Gray Hair Productions and approach some of these places about podcasting there.

Speaker A

And I think it's a great idea.

Speaker A

I think it'll work the way I've got it going.

Speaker A

So I had some chats, had, had a bunch of chats with AI.

Speaker A

Now I'm a, I'm a big proponent of Chat GPT.

Speaker A

I love Chat GPT.

Speaker A

I also, as you know, really like perplexity.

Speaker A

So I started out in perplexity and I have gone into it with perplexity, put in all the parameters that I was looking for, which are broad.

Speaker A

And then as I they gave me the answer, it, I started narrowing down, okay, now that you've done that, can you do this?

Speaker A

It created a deck for me or a presentation deck in keynote on Apple for me, which it's going to take some modification and it says you're going to have to model personalize this yourself.

Speaker A

But it pretty much says exactly what I want to do and why I want to do it and how I want to do it.

Speaker A

Excuse me.

Speaker A

Got the burps today.

Speaker A

And then it also explains the benefits.

Speaker A

It starts out with the benefits for them and then it goes to me now that was fantastic.

Speaker A

And then I'd ask it to list a bunch of things for me and it listed a bunch of view.

Speaker A

It didn't go as in depth as I wanted it to, but it gave me the sites to go to.

Speaker A

Which is one of the things about Perplexity I really, really like.

Speaker A

And that is that it will give you the references from where they got this information from so that you can go and check it out or investigate more.

Speaker A

So I went on and on and on.

Speaker A

It creates some spreadsheets for me.

Speaker A

It created everything I asked it to do and it was quickly done and very well done.

Speaker A

So I later on decided, well, let's, let's see what Chat GPT can do.

Speaker A

So I loaded the same question into Chat GPT and even when I was putting it in Perplexity, I asked the question and then I put down what my goal was.

Speaker A

Now maybe I should have put my goal first and then asked the question, which might have worked better, I don't know.

Speaker A

But my thought is I went with it that way.

Speaker A

So I went to Chat GPT, I did the same thing, I asked for the same thing.

Speaker A

And of course you're going to get different answers.

Speaker A

It just, it's, you're just going to.

Speaker A

Right, it's natural.

Speaker A

But they don't list where you get, they're getting information from.

Speaker A

But it gave me a lot of the same basic ideas.

Speaker A

It just, it wasn't going into the detail that Perplexity was.

Speaker A

Now maybe in my responses to their response I wasn't as deep as I needed to go and I'm going to try some more later on today but I wanted to let you know what was going on with it.

Speaker A

So then later on, on this weekend, this past weekend, I decided, well, let's.

Speaker A

I keep hearing about this new everything in New in Gemini, which is Google's AI through their Google Chrome browser.

Speaker A

And I asked it to list for me all I said all of these senior living facilities, over 55 plus communities and retirement villages or retirement communities in Florida, put them in a spreadsheet and I didn't care that it was Google Docs.

Speaker A

I like Google Docs, Google Docs are just fine, they're free.

Speaker A

But it would only give me eight or ten and then it would gave me a couple of websites to go look at.

Speaker A

It's not going as far as I want it to go.

Speaker A

So today I'm also going to try this on Grok.

Speaker A

Now Grok comes from Twitter so I don't know if Elon's got that all dialed in.

Speaker A

And I know just because Elon owns it doesn't mean he's over there playing with it every day.

Speaker A

Or he's involved, but he's, it's his company, it's his product.

Speaker A

But I am going to try it.

Speaker A

I'm going to try a couple different ones to see what I get.

Speaker A

Now I have to do my own research.

Speaker A

Don't get me wrong, but this is an assisted intelligence.

Speaker A

So artificial intelligence is, is what it's called.

Speaker A

But I, I use it as assistance or assistive intelligence.

Speaker A

And it works really well for me.

Speaker A

It's given me a lot of the things that I'm looking to have done.

Speaker A

And I, it's, it's, it's giving me what I want.

Speaker A

And then, and then also not so much that it's like, well, I'll do everything for you, Dave, because I don't want to do everything for me.

Speaker A

I want to do it myself too.

Speaker A

But I have to be the one to go and get the contacts and everything else and do what I want to do that way.

Speaker A

So I wanted you to know what was going on with that.

Speaker A

But I tell you what, AI did help me organize what I was doing.

Speaker A

Now, I could have gone in and started a spreadsheet or started a. I did a lot of this in Apple Notes too.

Speaker A

And don't get me wrong, Apple Notes is fantastic.

Speaker A

And on Apple Notes, I just really went to town on what I was doing.

Speaker A

And I was typing, typing, typing, typing, typing.

Speaker A

And one nice thing about Apple Notes is turn on the microphone, you can just start talking and it starts printing for you, which is great.

Speaker A

But there you go.

Speaker A

I mean, AI here is really making a huge difference in the daily lives of most people.

Speaker A

Maybe not.

Speaker A

You may not realize it.

Speaker A

I mentioned this a while ago when I go to Wendy's, which I haven't, I don't do very often now that I'm on this diet.

Speaker A

But their ordering system is now AI it add what do you want?

Speaker A

And it has specific questions.

Speaker A

It returns and it hasn't, it never goofed up during the time I was using it.

Speaker A

It would ask specific questions because I would say, yeah, I would like a single cheese, no tomato, no onion.

Speaker A

And it would.

Speaker A

That's what the order came out as.

Speaker A

Next time I went and I went there, I said, give me a single cheese, everything but tomato and onion.

Speaker A

And that's exactly what it gave me.

Speaker A

So I can't complain about it.

Speaker A

I, I Folks, it's.

Speaker A

If you're, you're part of the, the baby boomer generation, you got to find a way to get used to this because it's going to be out there.

Speaker A

It's going to be there for a long time, long past the time that we're gone.

Speaker A

So just get used to it, embrace it.

Speaker A

It's not there to hurt you.

Speaker A

It's not there to steal all your information or anything like that.

Speaker A

It's just there.

Speaker A

So be with it.

Speaker A

Okay.

Speaker A

Also, I am recording video with this one and I'm going to go edit it in and Final Cut Pro today.

Speaker A

The reason I'm going to use Final Cut Pro today is Apple came out with their Apple Creative Studio which gives you Logic Pro, Final Cut Pro, pixelmator Motion.

Speaker A

It gives you, oh goodness.

Speaker A

It gives you all the iWork stuff, pages and, and keynote numbers.

Speaker A

And there's another one, but there's like 8.

Speaker A

You get and for like 12.99amonth or if you're a student it's like $3 a month or you can pay for it for the year.

Speaker A

But that's like, let's see, what was it?

Speaker A

Like $129.

Speaker A

So they give you a little bit of a disc, give you almost like a two month discount for paying for the year.

Speaker A

So if it's something you're, you're thinking about, look into the, you know, if you're an Apple user, it doesn't work if you're on a PC.

Speaker A

I'm sorry, you need to have an Apple.

Speaker A

So with that being said, that's what I use now.

Speaker A

Also, I wanted you to know if you know somebody who wants to start a podcast, if you want to start a podcast, please go to Gray Hair Productions.

Speaker A

Leave me a note, go to the, the Contact Me page and leave me a message and I'll get back in touch with you.

Speaker A

Boomer Podcasters website is, is offline right now on purpose because I'm not sure what I'm doing with that.

Speaker A

I'm considering changing Boomer podcasters all the way around name and everything.

Speaker A

I don't know that I want to keep it that name anymore.

Speaker A

I have other ideas.

Speaker A

So go to Gray Hair Productions or you can also go to five minutes with gray hair.

Speaker A

David come.

Speaker A

That's the number five minutes gray hair dave.com and leave me a message there.

Speaker A

All these links are going to be in the show notes, but you have something to say, you have something you know that needs to be out there in the world.

Speaker A

You have knowledge, you have a hobby that you're, you're passionate about.

Speaker A

So you're passionate about Disney.

Speaker A

You can talk about Disney for years and never ever get to everything.

Speaker A

So consider that you know Golf, boating, airplanes, radio controlled stuff, gaming, anything.

Speaker A

A podcast is, is not a bad thing to do and you get it, you do it right.

Speaker A

You can get, make some money off of this either through affiliate marketing or through advertising, whatever.

Speaker A

There's ways to do that and I can help you with that.

Speaker A

Also folks, if, if you know somebody who doesn't know what a podcast is and, and, and I gotta believe there are still some people out there who don't and people who don't know what, how to find it, how to use it, grab their phone for them, go to Apple Podcasts, go to Google Play, show them where it is, show them what the john the genres are.

Speaker A

Use 5 minutes with gray Hair Dave as the example.

Speaker A

Have them look me up, have them show them how to play, show them how to subscribe, how to follow.

Speaker A

And we would greatly appreciate that here at Gray Hair Productions.

Speaker A

Every podcaster would, because there's podcasters out there doing everything.

Speaker A

I mean there's a lot, there's a lot of podcasts out there.

Speaker A

There's over a millions, over a million.

Speaker A

But anyways, so do that.

Speaker A

Also folks, while you're out and about, I know it's still chilly out here, especially here in Florida right now.

Speaker A

The Temperature here is 63.

Speaker A

Tomorrow it's going to 70, 72, but it's been cold.

Speaker A

But say hi to somebody, wave, say hi, smile, you'll make their day, they'll make yours.

Speaker A

So on behalf of Gray here, Dave here, don't Forget, look into 11 labs.

Speaker A

I might make a little money to help to free some of the costs of this podcast.

Speaker A

You all have a great week and I will talk to you again soon.

Speaker A

Bye bye.
