Welcome to five Minutes with Grey Hair Dave.
Speaker AHe has gray hair.
Speaker AHe has a gray beard.
Speaker AHe wears glasses like the guy in the artwork.
Speaker AOh, and the guy in the artwork is better looking.
Speaker ANow here is Grey Hair Dave.
Speaker BWell, folks, welcome back, welcome back, welcome back.
Speaker BIt's me, Gray Hair Dave.
Speaker BHere I am again, two days late because of situations that were beyond my control, being that there were a bunch of dogs next door that just kept barking all day long.
Speaker BAnd I wasn't going to put you through that and I wasn't going to try and edit out of it.
Speaker BI should get ahead of these things, but I like to be current, you know.
Speaker BSo what's happening in your world, huh?
Speaker BHaving a good day for me today?
Speaker BI'm.
Speaker BIt's Sunday.
Speaker BEaster, Easter Sunday.
Speaker BAnd Easter Sunday has always meant a lot to me.
Speaker BThere's a lot of reasons for that.
Speaker BBut one, I get a phone call from my brothers every Easter Sunday.
Speaker BDoesn't matter.
Speaker BSeriously, folks, it does not matter.
Speaker BWhether it's in May, April, early as March, I always get a phone call on Easter Sunday for my brothers.
Speaker BAnd here's the reason why.
Speaker BWay back when in 1957, which is the year I was born, and yes, I am dating myself, I was born on easter Sunday in 1957.
Speaker BMy birthday was on Easter and my brothers didn't get their Easter baskets that day because mom and dad were at the hospital and you know, having me being born, and I think they were either at my aunt's or my grandma and grandpa's house, so.
Speaker BAnd I think they were probably also on the way to the hospital to meet their new brother.
Speaker BThere's stories out there on the Internet through podcasts between Tim and myself.
Speaker BI think Paul even was involved in the one conversation.
Speaker BBut yeah, so whether it's my birthday or not, which, I'll be honest, I, I think it was really, it was about the same amount of close when I turned 50.
Speaker BI'll have to, I want to check into that.
Speaker BBut this is as close as it has come to my actual birthday.
Speaker BSo today is April 20, 2025, and my birthday is April 21, so it's a day away.
Speaker BNow my sister in law, Tim's wife, her birthday is on the 18th and I'm sure it has hit her day, her birthday, once or twice in her life too.
Speaker BAnd that's a cool thing to.
Speaker BIt's a, it.
Speaker BIt's a cool thing to have your birthday fall on Easter or any holiday that's not Christmas.
Speaker BI feel so bad for those who are born on or around Christmas.
Speaker BNumber two, my second wife was born.
Speaker BI think hers was the 26th of December.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker BThey may get you one extra present, but they're not getting you all everything.
Speaker BThey're, you know, Christmas is Christmas and this is your birthday tomorrow.
Speaker BIt's, you know.
Speaker BSo anyways, I feel for those, but for me, it means I get calls from my brothers.
Speaker BSo I am recording on the 20th, and I've already talked to one of them.
Speaker BNow there are other.
Speaker BThey're.
Speaker BThey were getting ready to go to church and.
Speaker BAnd I'm sure my other brother and his wife are getting ready to go to church.
Speaker BSo I expect sometime this afternoon I'll be hearing from him.
Speaker BSo that's what's going on in my life today.
Speaker BThat's kind of fun.
Speaker BIt is also two and two and a half.
Speaker BTwo and a half.
Speaker BLet me explain to you my, my numbering system really quick.
Speaker BTwo and a half is a girlfriend.
Speaker BOne is my first wife, two is my second wife.
Speaker BYes, there were girlfriends before my first wife.
Speaker BAnd yes, there were girlfriends between one and two.
Speaker BAnd there was.
Speaker BSo number two is my second wife.
Speaker BRight.
Speaker BWell, after that, after that divorce, I.
Speaker BI dated a little bit and eventually moved from Michigan to Florida, where I met the girl who you all have heard about that I call two and a half.
Speaker BShe was a girlfriend.
Speaker BWe were together for.
Speaker BAs a couple for about two, two and a half years.
Speaker BWe lived together.
Speaker BWe.
Speaker BI helped her with her business, I helped her around the house, all those fun things.
Speaker BAnd then we really decided we were better friends than we were a couple.
Speaker BSo we broke up.
Speaker BBut she said, but I don't want you to move out.
Speaker BSo weird.
Speaker BThis is the weirdest relationship I've ever been in, but I still love it to this day.
Speaker BIn fact, we've been chatting through Facebook messenger this morning already.
Speaker BAnd we stayed together for almost 11 years.
Speaker BIt was 10 and 3/4 or 10 and a half, but it's almost 11 years.
Speaker BWe lived together because we were best friends.
Speaker BAnd then it got to the point where she wanted to be bringing guys home to the house instead of going to their house when she was dating them and dating her now husband, her fiance at the time.
Speaker BAnd of course I moved out.
Speaker BYou know, it's a gentlemanly thing to do because I was also dating again and it was a little awkward to say to the girl, well, we can't go to my house because I live with my ex girlfriend.
Speaker BSo that's the numbering process.
Speaker BI have a two and three quarters.
Speaker BI do.
Speaker BVery lovely woman.
Speaker BWe lived together for two and a half years.
Speaker BVery smart woman, very smart.
Speaker BAnd I wish her all the best in the world, but it just didn't work out for me.
Speaker BHere's something that I don't know if you know about.
Speaker BWe're gonna change the subject here just a little bit, but it still kind of goes back to the girls.
Speaker BI don't know if you've ever had surgery in your life.
Speaker BFolks, if you're older like me, there's a chance.
Speaker BBut every time I go under anesthesia to have surgery, I come out and I have this change in attitude about something, whether that is a little more driven, or I don't like that kind of thing anymore, or I'm never going to do that again kind of a thing.
Speaker BAfter my cancer surgery back in 1820.
Speaker B18, yeah, it's been a long time.
Speaker BI decided that I wasn't going to take and just put up with people's crap because they wanted to give it to me.
Speaker BAnd that was not something that I decided consciously.
Speaker BIt was like something in me said, that's enough of this.
Speaker BI don't need to put up with this in my life.
Speaker BWell, as time went on, things happen.
Speaker BAnd I got tired of being put up, Putting up with things I didn't want to put up with.
Speaker BIt was not worth everything else around it or my health, because you know how it is when you're.
Speaker BIt's not like I was being berated or anything else.
Speaker BI was treated well by these.
Speaker BBy whoever this was I'm talking about.
Speaker BBut it just.
Speaker BIt got to the point where it just.
Speaker BIt was we were better off not together.
Speaker BSo I just don't do that anymore.
Speaker BAfter this last surgery on my foot, things have changed here, too.
Speaker BIt's not that I don't want to put up with shit no more, excuse my language.
Speaker BIt's that I don't know that I want to continue to work where I'm working.
Speaker BI don't necessarily want to live where I'm living.
Speaker BI want to be closer to the beach.
Speaker BBut as we all know, getting closer to the beach is expensive.
Speaker BSo, anyway, I can always drive to the beach.
Speaker BIt's only an hour and a half away.
Speaker BHour and a half to one side, you know, to the east coast and about two hours to the west.
Speaker BI can go visit for a while and stay where I'm at.
Speaker BI don't hate where I'm at.
Speaker BI just.
Speaker BI want to be near the water more.
Speaker BI feel a connection to the water.
Speaker BOkay, so anyways, you've You've learned about my numbering system.
Speaker BYou've learned about what happens to me after surgeries.
Speaker BNow let's talk quickly about politics.
Speaker BYou know, if you're from another country besides the US and you're watching US News or the politics involved with US News, you have got to be laughing your ever loving butt off where they.
Speaker BTrump has decided that if you are illegal in the country and you're a bad person, you're going away, you're leaving.
Speaker BThey're going to put you in jail in El Salvador.
Speaker BI think it's one of those places down there, Venezuela, I don't know.
Speaker BAnd there's this guy that's been here for quite a while and he got a family and they deported him.
Speaker BAt Least part of Ms.
Speaker B13, they said, I don't know if this is true or not.
Speaker BAll I know is the democrats are going 8 crap crazy over all this and how could we deport somebody with a family and a wife and that, yada, yada, yada, doesn't matter how many bad things this person may have done.
Speaker BYeah, we're gonna do the.
Speaker BThey are just.
Speaker BOh, and it just gives the people on that TV show that I like to talk about, you know, like what happens when you look out a window, you get a view, gives them something to talk about.
Speaker BYou gotta admit, our president is very good at putting things out there to keep the country moving.
Speaker BSo also, I'm not gonna be the only one to talk about this.
Speaker BBut I don't know if you've ever talked to or talked about or listened to a gentleman named Bill Maher.
Speaker BWell, he's a political comedian, but he's got a TV show on hbo and he's more left than he is right when it comes to politics.
Speaker BBut a guy named Kid Rock, I'm sure most of you have heard of Kid Rock, talked him into going to dinner with the President.
Speaker BAnd Bill Maher came out with a much different opinion of the man who is our president.
Speaker BEverybody's judging him on how he is in front of cameras or the man in the job, not the man.
Speaker BYou listen to some of these commentators and one that really impressed me too was Tyrus.
Speaker BI don't know if you've all know Tyrus or not, but he used to be a wrestler with NW or with WWF or he was also bodyguards.
Speaker BBut he's on the, the Gutfeld Show.
Speaker BAnd he's a commentator.
Speaker BHe's.
Speaker BHe's a news commentator.
Speaker BHe's a great guy.
Speaker BHe's a big guy.
Speaker BBut he talks about the conversation that he had with President Trump after he was on the Gutfeld show.
Speaker BHe talked to him for about a half an hour and how he had, Tyrus had his daughter there that day at the studio.
Speaker BAnd Trump sat there and talked to his daughter for quite a while about horses and all the things that she liked.
Speaker BAnd because Trump is a grandfather and a father, you know, he knows how to deal with children, but he also, he likes to learn about people.
Speaker BSo I give him a lot of credit.
Speaker BRemember, folks, what you see is not always what is true.
Speaker BAm I not.
Speaker BAm I not right in there?
Speaker BWe are judging books by their covers, not by the material on the inside.
Speaker BWith that being said, I'm going to change it up a little bit today.
Speaker BIf you see somebody you don't know out and about today, smile at them.
Speaker BYou're going to make their day.
Speaker BAnd they will, in turn, make your day.
Speaker BAlso, folks, don't forget, if you know somebody who doesn't know what a podcast is, do me a favor.
Speaker BShow them.
Speaker BTell them how to do it.
Speaker BTalk to them about the different kinds of genres that they might be interested in.
Speaker BTell them about me.
Speaker BI like that idea.
Speaker BYou know, show them how to follow, subscribe.
Speaker BThey're going to get enjoyment out of this, even if they're not listening to me, which they all should be.
Speaker BSo, folks, on behalf of everybody here at Gray Hair Productions, which is me, Gray Hair Dave here, saying happy Easter if you celebrate it, Happy Passover if it is.
Speaker BI think today is also Passover.
Speaker BAnd I will talk to you again next week.
Speaker BBye.
