Speaker A

Welcome to five Minutes with Grey Hair Dave.

Speaker A

He has gray hair.

Speaker A

He has a gray beard.

Speaker A

He wears glasses like the guy in the artwork.

Speaker A

Oh, and the guy in the artwork is better looking.

Speaker A

Now here is Grey Hair Dave.

Speaker B

Well, folks, welcome back, welcome back, welcome back.

Speaker B

It's me, Gray Hair Dave.

Speaker B

Here I am again, two days late because of situations that were beyond my control, being that there were a bunch of dogs next door that just kept barking all day long.

Speaker B

And I wasn't going to put you through that and I wasn't going to try and edit out of it.

Speaker B

I should get ahead of these things, but I like to be current, you know.

Speaker B

So what's happening in your world, huh?

Speaker B

Having a good day for me today?

Speaker B

I'm.

Speaker B

It's Sunday.

Speaker B

Easter, Easter Sunday.

Speaker B

And Easter Sunday has always meant a lot to me.

Speaker B

There's a lot of reasons for that.

Speaker B

But one, I get a phone call from my brothers every Easter Sunday.

Speaker B

Doesn't matter.

Speaker B

Seriously, folks, it does not matter.

Speaker B

Whether it's in May, April, early as March, I always get a phone call on Easter Sunday for my brothers.

Speaker B

And here's the reason why.

Speaker B

Way back when in 1957, which is the year I was born, and yes, I am dating myself, I was born on easter Sunday in 1957.

Speaker B

My birthday was on Easter and my brothers didn't get their Easter baskets that day because mom and dad were at the hospital and you know, having me being born, and I think they were either at my aunt's or my grandma and grandpa's house, so.

Speaker B

And I think they were probably also on the way to the hospital to meet their new brother.

Speaker B

There's stories out there on the Internet through podcasts between Tim and myself.

Speaker B

I think Paul even was involved in the one conversation.

Speaker B

But yeah, so whether it's my birthday or not, which, I'll be honest, I, I think it was really, it was about the same amount of close when I turned 50.

Speaker B

I'll have to, I want to check into that.

Speaker B

But this is as close as it has come to my actual birthday.

Speaker B

So today is April 20, 2025, and my birthday is April 21, so it's a day away.

Speaker B

Now my sister in law, Tim's wife, her birthday is on the 18th and I'm sure it has hit her day, her birthday, once or twice in her life too.

Speaker B

And that's a cool thing to.

Speaker B

It's a, it.

Speaker B

It's a cool thing to have your birthday fall on Easter or any holiday that's not Christmas.

Speaker B

I feel so bad for those who are born on or around Christmas.

Speaker B

Number two, my second wife was born.

Speaker B

I think hers was the 26th of December.

Speaker B

Yeah.

Speaker B

Okay.

Speaker B

They may get you one extra present, but they're not getting you all everything.

Speaker B

They're, you know, Christmas is Christmas and this is your birthday tomorrow.

Speaker B

It's, you know.

Speaker B

So anyways, I feel for those, but for me, it means I get calls from my brothers.

Speaker B

So I am recording on the 20th, and I've already talked to one of them.

Speaker B

Now there are other.

Speaker B

They're.

Speaker B

They were getting ready to go to church and.

Speaker B

And I'm sure my other brother and his wife are getting ready to go to church.

Speaker B

So I expect sometime this afternoon I'll be hearing from him.

Speaker B

So that's what's going on in my life today.

Speaker B

That's kind of fun.

Speaker B

It is also two and two and a half.

Speaker B

Two and a half.

Speaker B

Let me explain to you my, my numbering system really quick.

Speaker B

Two and a half is a girlfriend.

Speaker B

One is my first wife, two is my second wife.

Speaker B

Yes, there were girlfriends before my first wife.

Speaker B

And yes, there were girlfriends between one and two.

Speaker B

And there was.

Speaker B

So number two is my second wife.

Speaker B

Right.

Speaker B

Well, after that, after that divorce, I.

Speaker B

I dated a little bit and eventually moved from Michigan to Florida, where I met the girl who you all have heard about that I call two and a half.

Speaker B

She was a girlfriend.

Speaker B

We were together for.

Speaker B

As a couple for about two, two and a half years.

Speaker B

We lived together.

Speaker B

We.

Speaker B

I helped her with her business, I helped her around the house, all those fun things.

Speaker B

And then we really decided we were better friends than we were a couple.

Speaker B

So we broke up.

Speaker B

But she said, but I don't want you to move out.

Speaker B

So weird.

Speaker B

This is the weirdest relationship I've ever been in, but I still love it to this day.

Speaker B

In fact, we've been chatting through Facebook messenger this morning already.

Speaker B

And we stayed together for almost 11 years.

Speaker B

It was 10 and 3/4 or 10 and a half, but it's almost 11 years.

Speaker B

We lived together because we were best friends.

Speaker B

And then it got to the point where she wanted to be bringing guys home to the house instead of going to their house when she was dating them and dating her now husband, her fiance at the time.

Speaker B

And of course I moved out.

Speaker B

You know, it's a gentlemanly thing to do because I was also dating again and it was a little awkward to say to the girl, well, we can't go to my house because I live with my ex girlfriend.

Speaker B

So that's the numbering process.

Speaker B

I have a two and three quarters.

Speaker B

I do.

Speaker B

Very lovely woman.

Speaker B

We lived together for two and a half years.

Speaker B

Very smart woman, very smart.

Speaker B

And I wish her all the best in the world, but it just didn't work out for me.

Speaker B

Here's something that I don't know if you know about.

Speaker B

We're gonna change the subject here just a little bit, but it still kind of goes back to the girls.

Speaker B

I don't know if you've ever had surgery in your life.

Speaker B

Folks, if you're older like me, there's a chance.

Speaker B

But every time I go under anesthesia to have surgery, I come out and I have this change in attitude about something, whether that is a little more driven, or I don't like that kind of thing anymore, or I'm never going to do that again kind of a thing.

Speaker B

After my cancer surgery back in 1820.

Speaker B

18, yeah, it's been a long time.

Speaker B

I decided that I wasn't going to take and just put up with people's crap because they wanted to give it to me.

Speaker B

And that was not something that I decided consciously.

Speaker B

It was like something in me said, that's enough of this.

Speaker B

I don't need to put up with this in my life.

Speaker B

Well, as time went on, things happen.

Speaker B

And I got tired of being put up, Putting up with things I didn't want to put up with.

Speaker B

It was not worth everything else around it or my health, because you know how it is when you're.

Speaker B

It's not like I was being berated or anything else.

Speaker B

I was treated well by these.

Speaker B

By whoever this was I'm talking about.

Speaker B

But it just.

Speaker B

It got to the point where it just.

Speaker B

It was we were better off not together.

Speaker B

So I just don't do that anymore.

Speaker B

After this last surgery on my foot, things have changed here, too.

Speaker B

It's not that I don't want to put up with shit no more, excuse my language.

Speaker B

It's that I don't know that I want to continue to work where I'm working.

Speaker B

I don't necessarily want to live where I'm living.

Speaker B

I want to be closer to the beach.

Speaker B

But as we all know, getting closer to the beach is expensive.

Speaker B

So, anyway, I can always drive to the beach.

Speaker B

It's only an hour and a half away.

Speaker B

Hour and a half to one side, you know, to the east coast and about two hours to the west.

Speaker B

I can go visit for a while and stay where I'm at.

Speaker B

I don't hate where I'm at.

Speaker B

I just.

Speaker B

I want to be near the water more.

Speaker B

I feel a connection to the water.

Speaker B

Okay, so anyways, you've You've learned about my numbering system.

Speaker B

You've learned about what happens to me after surgeries.

Speaker B

Now let's talk quickly about politics.

Speaker B

You know, if you're from another country besides the US and you're watching US News or the politics involved with US News, you have got to be laughing your ever loving butt off where they.

Speaker B

Trump has decided that if you are illegal in the country and you're a bad person, you're going away, you're leaving.

Speaker B

They're going to put you in jail in El Salvador.

Speaker B

I think it's one of those places down there, Venezuela, I don't know.

Speaker B

And there's this guy that's been here for quite a while and he got a family and they deported him.

Speaker B

At Least part of Ms.

Speaker B

13, they said, I don't know if this is true or not.

Speaker B

All I know is the democrats are going 8 crap crazy over all this and how could we deport somebody with a family and a wife and that, yada, yada, yada, doesn't matter how many bad things this person may have done.

Speaker B

Yeah, we're gonna do the.

Speaker B

They are just.

Speaker B

Oh, and it just gives the people on that TV show that I like to talk about, you know, like what happens when you look out a window, you get a view, gives them something to talk about.

Speaker B

You gotta admit, our president is very good at putting things out there to keep the country moving.

Speaker B

So also, I'm not gonna be the only one to talk about this.

Speaker B

But I don't know if you've ever talked to or talked about or listened to a gentleman named Bill Maher.

Speaker B

Well, he's a political comedian, but he's got a TV show on hbo and he's more left than he is right when it comes to politics.

Speaker B

But a guy named Kid Rock, I'm sure most of you have heard of Kid Rock, talked him into going to dinner with the President.

Speaker B

And Bill Maher came out with a much different opinion of the man who is our president.

Speaker B

Everybody's judging him on how he is in front of cameras or the man in the job, not the man.

Speaker B

You listen to some of these commentators and one that really impressed me too was Tyrus.

Speaker B

I don't know if you've all know Tyrus or not, but he used to be a wrestler with NW or with WWF or he was also bodyguards.

Speaker B

But he's on the, the Gutfeld Show.

Speaker B

And he's a commentator.

Speaker B

He's.

Speaker B

He's a news commentator.

Speaker B

He's a great guy.

Speaker B

He's a big guy.

Speaker B

But he talks about the conversation that he had with President Trump after he was on the Gutfeld show.

Speaker B

He talked to him for about a half an hour and how he had, Tyrus had his daughter there that day at the studio.

Speaker B

And Trump sat there and talked to his daughter for quite a while about horses and all the things that she liked.

Speaker B

And because Trump is a grandfather and a father, you know, he knows how to deal with children, but he also, he likes to learn about people.

Speaker B

So I give him a lot of credit.

Speaker B

Remember, folks, what you see is not always what is true.

Speaker B

Am I not.

Speaker B

Am I not right in there?

Speaker B

We are judging books by their covers, not by the material on the inside.

Speaker B

With that being said, I'm going to change it up a little bit today.

Speaker B

If you see somebody you don't know out and about today, smile at them.

Speaker B

You're going to make their day.

Speaker B

And they will, in turn, make your day.

Speaker B

Also, folks, don't forget, if you know somebody who doesn't know what a podcast is, do me a favor.

Speaker B

Show them.

Speaker B

Tell them how to do it.

Speaker B

Talk to them about the different kinds of genres that they might be interested in.

Speaker B

Tell them about me.

Speaker B

I like that idea.

Speaker B

You know, show them how to follow, subscribe.

Speaker B

They're going to get enjoyment out of this, even if they're not listening to me, which they all should be.

Speaker B

So, folks, on behalf of everybody here at Gray Hair Productions, which is me, Gray Hair Dave here, saying happy Easter if you celebrate it, Happy Passover if it is.

Speaker B

I think today is also Passover.

Speaker B

And I will talk to you again next week.

Speaker B

Bye.
